1st Answer
By coupling the trailer drawbar eye has hit the front of
the top cover cap of the coupling. Caused by this hit the
2 locking springs insite the mechanism has moved from
position.

By excessive utilisation the springs are compressed
and lost power.

Tap softly and alternately with a hammer on the
spots marked with A and B.
• Springs will straighten out again.

During opening you can move the handle only
until half-open position of the coupling.

Slight inclination, out of center, of the coupling funnel because:
It possibly has not been moved for a long time (rust)
The return spring is damaged
The wearing pad is worn out
(Burr formation). Blocks into the inner wearing ring.

the grease which now acts like an abrasive paper

When driving with a trailer the coupling was not completely closed (e.g.
caused by dust and impurities on bottom guide bush) and thereby the
coupling bolt has got slightly bended in the shaft.

You don‘t drive / use a RINGFEDER coupling.
RINGFEDER couplings cannot only be locked in three
different positions but also have an extremely strong
coupling body.
