INTRODUCTION: Worship has to do with our attitude
and actions of honour, love and respect towards the one we reference and fear.
Praise has to do with proclaiming (usually by our words and songs) the glory and goodness of the one we worship Ps 51:15).

WORSHIPWorship is an expression of love
and adoration. It is possible to admire someone
and appreciate what they do without being in love with them.
In the same way, worship has to do with our love of the Lord.
www.wordyaleo.com 20
It can be expressed only with the giving of our whole heart and life to Him.
“To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices (Mark 12:33).
www.wordyaleo.com 21
“Yet a time is coming, and has now come, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in SPIRIT and TRUTH” (John 4:23, 24).
www.wordyaleo.com 22
IN SPIRITOur spirit is called the “inner
man” (Eph 3:16).True worship takes place when
the inner man, in response to the promptings of God’s Spirit, expresses love and adoration to God.
www.wordyaleo.com 23
This can take the form of spoken words, a love-song to the Lord, or silent adoration.
True worship requires the action of the Holy Spirit on our spirit.
So, only those who have been “born again of the Spirit” through faith in Jesus Christ can truly worship God (John 3:5-8).

BENEFITS OF PRAISE
www.wordyaleo.com 45
Praise helps us honor, worship, and give maximum glory to the One who deserves it (Eph. 1:1).
Praise puts our focus on God, not our problems. God’s power, presence, and ability transform our thinking.
www.wordyaleo.com 46
Praise helps us complete God’s primary purpose for creating us. (Eph.1:3)
It is impossible to know the will of God without true worship. (John 4:24)
Praise helps us understand our own identity, privileges, and responsibilities. (Eph.1:1)
www.wordyaleo.com 47
Praise helps us fully appreciate and appropriate God’s grace and goodness of peace. (Eph.1:2)
Praise helps us gain a richer sense of spiritual, mental, emotional, social, and physical tranquility.
www.wordyaleo.com 48
Praise helps us gain a greater awareness of how enriched we are through God’s blessings. (Eph.1:3)

Praise deflates excess pride and ego. We gain a healthy self image, based on God’s view of us. By removing pride, praise strengthens us against temptation.
Praise helps us share with others the rich blessings that can be theirs through Christ.
www.wordyaleo.com 51

www.wordyaleo.com 52
Praise reveals our devotion to God. If I love Christ, I will praise Him. If He is first in my life, I will honor Him with praise and thanksgiving.
Praise establishes our faith. The greater we see our God, the smaller we see our problems.
Praise elevates our emotions. Worry, fear, and doubt cannot survive long in an atmosphere of praise.
www.wordyaleo.com 53
Praise brings God’s presence. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel (Psalm 22:3).
God’s presence brings joy.In thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalm 16:11).
The joy of the Lord is our strength. For the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10).
