The Right Detector for the Right Application
► Sun Nuclear manufactures both diode and ion chamber
detectors and arrays.
► Sun Nuclear’s SunPoint Diode Detectors offer the benefits
of smaller active area, better sensitivity, less drift and
increased lifetime.
► SunPoint Diode Detectors are used for small field/patient-
specific applications due to smaller size and better
performance characteristics for small and modulated fields.
► Ion chambers are used for large field/low-modulation
applications where small size is not necessary.
► Sun Nuclear software also supports EPID, Gafchromic film,
and CR detectors.
Many companies claim to develop innovative products,
but their products are not better or different from any
other product. At Sun Nuclear, innovation has a name. Our
solutions are designed for you and the way you work, not
the other way around. The result? Solutions that look and
perform differently in a way that improves outcomes while
saving you time.
7
ImageProTM – Solution for TG-142
► No need to manually name files, or to identify the machine or tolerance. ImagePro’s advanced
algorithms do the work for you.
► ImagePro is delivered pre-installed on Sun Nuclear’s Integrated Data Device (IDD). Simply
connect the IDD to your network and ImagePro is ready to be used on as many computers as
you wish.
► The ImagePro user interface (or client) does not need to be installed because it relies on a
standard browser. It offers security, flexibility and less overhead for you.
ArcCHECK®
► The ArcCHECK has a patented cylindrical detector geometry that measures beams upon entry
and again upon exit. The detector geometry is consistent for all gantry angles, is highly sensitive
to errors, and enables dose calculation throughout the entire phantom.
► The ArcCHECK has a Virtual Inclinometer to ensure measurement at the correct angle. There are
no additional cables or equipment to attach to the linear accelerator.
► The ArcCHECK geometry allows for a hollow central cavity which can be filled with inserts
holding ion chambers, diodes, and film, and can be arranged in many different configurations.
► Reversing the trend towards ever heavier and awkward-to-use phantoms, ArcCHECK weighs only
16kg and uses only one cable for all power and data needs.
3D SCANNERTM
► The 3D SCANNER uses a patented design that allows consistent in-line, cross-line, and diagonal
scans with no detector setup changes or tank shifts. The system improves data quality and
reduces the risk of error.
► AutoSetupTM automatically and reproducibly sets the detector position at the water surface, and
levels and aligns the tank, eliminating subjectivity.
► Save all scans in a searchable database, and preserve original raw scan data after applying
processing layers to provide more data flexibility and easier inter-comparisons.

TrainingModern radiation oncology techniques are complex, and their safety and effectiveness rely on the proper use of QA tools. Many
groups, including ASTRO and AAPM, recommend that meaningful training solutions be incorporated into routine practices.
Sun Nuclear opened a new customer training center, the
Sun Nuclear Training Center, in 2013. The training center is
a purpose-built training center with its own linear accelerator
and demonstrates Sun Nuclear’s commitment to patient
safety and the effective use of QA tools.
Users can experience in-depth exploration of Sun Nuclear
product functionality on a linac, as well as application-
specific coursework such as IMRT QA, VMAT QA, Annual
QA, and Commissioning. The SNTC offers this training in
an environment that closely mimics an actual clinical setting
because a realistic experience ensures the best possible
training outcome.
Training courses on a variety of subjects are offered year
round and are delivered by Sun Nuclear subject matter
experts and experienced clinical users. Details on upcoming
training courses are posted on the Sun Nuclear
Support website.

I have to say the 3D SCANNER is a step above anything I’ve used in the past. Even with my lack of hands
on experience I was able to meet all of my deadlines and found that the system was exceptionally easy to
pickup and use right out of the box. Sun Nuclear’s trainer was also exceptional and by the end of the first
afternoon I was navigating the software, processing scans and even exporting scans for outside analysis.
The tank setup is by far and away the easiest setup of a scanning tank I have ever used and a testament
to the ground up approach to the engineering of this scanning system. From my experience with 3D
SCANNER, I’ll be a Sun Nuclear tank user for all of my future sites.

The Cylindrical Advantage
Maintains ideal orientation of the detector during in-line, cross-line and diagonal scans Amount of cable being irradiated remains constant during scan, diminishing cable effect More scanning area— up to 65cm in any direction Less volume than traditional tanks with smaller scanning area Less volume means faster fill and drain time No need to shift the tank and risk setup inconsistencies during shifting Water ripples settle faster because of curved walls Circular design makes 3D SCANNER a stronger shape than a traditional tank with 8 seams Better design for acquiring numerous and various diagonal scans as with Cyberknife®
Detector travels the same path for multiple measurement angles, allowing for self diagnostics
AutoSetup™
No more guesswork, highly reproducible setup results; 3D SCANNER setup results from users with no experience compared to 3D SCANNER setup results from experts yield maximum variation of only 0.3mm. Automatically levels tank by sensing water level relative to vertical Z-axis. Automatically aligns ring center to beam axis with motor-driven tank shift +/- 3cm Automatically establishes in-line and cross-line home positions for ring drive using a series of beam measurements Ready to scan in less than 20 minutes
