ENGAGEMENTS
reduce the
time to maturity
Inline with the Iasa Mission Statement to “make architecture the most educated, capable, and recognized profession in the world”
We created a range of services that aim to accelerate the journey that many organisations and architecture groups are on, towards digital advantage, business alignment, value delivery and outcome focus.
An Association for All IT Architects
The Engagement Model covers Skills, Progress, Coverage and Value with:
■artifacts and templates
■job descriptions and roles
■goals, objectives and value measures
■support for innovation.
Engagement Model
An Association for All IT Architects
Advisory 1 – Practice Assessments
Intentionally of short duration, this starting point ensures alignment with business objectives:
• Tools-based (encapsulating the transition from one maturity level to the next) so that outcome is repeatable and provides a baseline and benchmark over time
• Survey and certification of architects can be included
• Includes a presentation of the final report that documents findings using “rising-star” chart; Iasa approach is to always focus on the future state and outcomes prioritized by ability to execute and time to value
A short assessment and planning engagement delivering a strategic report on
the health and maturity of the architect practice. It outlines opportunities for
improvement within the practice and architecture function, it also identifies a
forward plan to improve specific capabilities that are aligned to the customers
business.
These are prioritized according to “ability to execute” and “time to value”
An Association for All IT Architects
Advisory 2 – Centre of ExcellenceA longer-term engagement to deliver on the recommendations of an Assessment through
execution iterations (interventions) to accelerate maturity, based on establishing a focus
(CoE) and culture change. Enables an architecture capability and achieves a Rationalized
level of maturity in short order. Built around a ten element model that allows both
technology and business perspectives to work together.
Establish a modern-style architecture function that is “business aligned, outcome focused and value driven”
▪ Includes the assessment and (re)training of individuals across skills, job descriptions and leads to certification
▪ Establishes standard organizational structures and governance processes at the Enterprise level
▪ Includes value measurement and tracking as part of change management (separated from project management)
▪ Ensures business stakeholder alignment and involvement
Establish best practice across multiple related competencies as Iasa Consultants work alongside the customer team and drive the planning and execution of change.
■Business Analysis, Readiness, Change Management, Communication, Architecture, etc.

Community
IASA’s purpose as a not for profit professional body is to build and grow the profession of IT architecture around the world. A key
component to that is the development of architect communities and outreach. A variety of programs exist in locations around the world
connected through the IASA network of chapters.
Chapters, Partners & Events
IASA has developed a number of chapters & partners in locations around the world including the US, Sweden, UK, Ireland, Spain, Brazil,
Costa Rica, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and more. These chapters bring together the community of architects in their location, run events,
interviews, training programs, workshops, develop content and more. All helping to grow the community and development of IT
Architecture as a profession.
Outreach & Education
There are a number of chapter examples where a key element includes outreach to the community including student programs run by
the chapter in Seattle. In Ireland the chapter is aligned to one of the universities and IASA has now accredited one of their master’s
programs.
Community Development
An Association for All IT Architects
▪ Sweden, Ireland, Singapore are examples where IASA has partnered with the national computer societies to bring awareness, information, training & certification programs to the table.
▪ DND is the latest example of this and we are delighted to be developing our partnership together in Norway
▪ First Steps
▪ We completed a successful CITA-F Core class in 2019 with DND
▪ Planned Events
▪ CITA-F Core class rescheduled to September 2020. We already have 19 registered attendees. Further classes are planned if numbers rise further.
▪ Our Goals
▪ Bring Awareness – work with DND and their partners to bring awareness of Iasa and information on the development of the profession globally
▪ Organize events and meetups – Develop further events like this to bring speakers and discussions and develop community engagement.
▪ Develop the community together, their engagement, discussions, content development etc.
▪ Develop together opportunities in education, government and research
▪ Build on the success of initial training programs and introduce further courses to grow the levels of certified architects
▪ Build on the success of existing corporate partnerships like Sopra Steria and introduce programs to further organisations
