MAYOR’S MESSAGE
On behalf of Council and Staff, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the 2016/2017 Business and Community Directory, a publication created in partnership with the King Chamber of Commerce. This Directory provides information on over 550 businesses in King, In addition to many other local community organizations and associations.
This directory serves as an introduction to the community and

is a useful tool for new residents, for those seeking employment, and for those interested in getting involved in the community through various organizations and community groups. In keeping with the message to ‘Shop Local’, the directory can serve as a resource for helping residents, businesses and consumers access a wide variety of local providers and suppliers.
King is delighted knowing that Magna International will be relocating their Global Corporate Head-Office to King City’s prestigious employment lands at Jane Street & King Road. Magna’s presence in King City will excel our business sector opportunities to a whole new level. King is also moving forward with Project MOVE, which includes the construction of new municipal offices at the site of the former Holy Name school on King Road in King City. The building will be a multi-use facility with the inclusion of a York Regional Police substation and a full-sized public gymnasium. Construction is scheduled to be done by the end of next year.
The recently launched Experience King campaign, consisting of a website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter account, has been a great success. Continued efforts to promote tourism through the celebration of King as a beautiful place to refresh, recharge and revitalize, have proven great results. By exposing both local residents and tourists to some of the most unique experiences King has to offer, tourist and resident knowledge has and will continue to flourish. Anybody can explore and learn more about these featured destinations in King Township at www.experienceking.ca.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome to the fifth edition of the King Business & Community Directory. We are very proud to have so many great business right here where we live. There is a growing trend toward local sourcing and it is wonderful to have such a selection of high quality businesses that offer fantastic service. Part of having a sustainable community is to be able to source goods and services nearby; it is convenient, energy efficient, and helps with local employment. This year several local businesses have opened so there is an even greater set of options is available here in King.
The directory has business listings both by category and by a quick, alphabetic lookup. As well, our Chamber members are highlighted in blue. This year we move to a larger format for the booklet to make it easy to use. I encourage everyone when a need arises to see what is available locally.
I want to thank the Township for their ongoing support of this initiative. Their support is critical to our ability to produce the directory. In particular I thank the Economic Development Office of the Township for their help in creating the directory.
