NOIDANMS held its 6th Virtual Meeting at 11 am on 07 Feb. Theattendance was 16 members.

Lt Gen R K Mehta, President NMS welcomed all membersto the meeting. In his opening remarks he thanked Col PSDutta for coordinating the meeting details and sharing thelink for the meeting. We are in interesting times withongoing farmers agitation, the Republic Day Parade wasimpressive as always, however the mayhem caused byagitators on that day was shameful and most undesirableon a day of national importance, the commencement ofCOVID vaccinations is most welcome and lastly, we havebeen presented a visionary budget which is generally wellreceived at home and abroad.

Mohyal prayer was led by Mrs Sunita Chibber. Memberscelebrating their wedding anniversary and birthdays weregreeted warmly. Two subjects were then discussed withgood participation of members.

General Budget. Members appreciated the budget asvisionary, with a long term plan. Despite the effects ofpandemic in 2020 most allocations are higher thanexpected. The expectations of the middle class have beenbelied especially on tax relief.

Farmers Agitation. This was also discussed in the lastmeeting . Members were unanimous in stating that thehappenings at the Red Fort on 26 Jan have affected ournational image and the desecration of our National Flag isunacceptable, the guilty must be arrested and dealt withlegally. The agitation is being controlled by those inimicalto India. We are suffering a huge economic loss besidesother negative fallout. A solution to this most unsavorysituation has to be arrived at soon.

Next Meeting on 07 Mar will be a virtual meeting. Col PSDutta suggested that with our meeting in Apr we switch tophysical meetings. Most members agreed with theproposal.

Gen Bakshi informed that GMS elections preparations areon. He expressed the hope that maximum members willparticipate in the elections and vote for quality. Our mohyalyouth should be more visible especially women.

Members desirous of joining for Kumbh Mela at Haridwarshould have a COVID negative certificate and do advancebookings for rooms in the Ashram. Gen Mehta thanked allparticipants for a rich discussion.
