1. Introduction

This document is designed to guide sites through the migration of the existing

configuration files, install of the packages, and update of the storage database for the PD2

Archiving Utility v8.0 for SR18. The installer is a wizard-based application designed to

install the webMethods packages and apply database scripts to the PD2 Storage Database.

1.1 Before Running the Installation

Prior to running the installation, verify the following:

Ensure that the environment meets the in the PD² v4.2 Increment 2 SR18 Hardware

Software Specifications.

The latest webMethods 10.5 update has been applied. Refer to the Instructions for

Installing webMethods Product Suite v10.5.

Sybase Open Client 16.0 has been installed. Refer to the PD2 v4.2 Increment 2 SR18

Sybase Open Client 16.0 SP03 PL09 Installation Guide for installation instructions.

The production database is at PD² v4.2 Increment 2 SR18.

2. Pre-Installation Instructions

2.1 Save Configuration Files

In order to maintain the previous configurations, save the configuration files from the

webMethods 10.1 installation now and restore them in Section 4.1: Restore

Configuration Files.

To save configuration files:

1. On the machine where webMethods 10.1 is installed, open a Microsoft Windows

Explorer window.

2. Create a new directory to store configuration files (e.g.,

C:\SaveArchivingUtility).

3. Navigate to the <WMDIR>\IntegrationServer\instances\< INST_NAME>\

packages, where <WMDIR> is the webMethods 10.1 installation directory and

<INST_NAME> is the Integration Server instance name.

4. Locate the ArchivingEnvConfig directory.

5. Inside the ArchivingEnvConfig directory, copy the ns directory to the directory

created in Step 2.

6. Navigate to the <WMDIR>\IntegrationServer\instances\< INST_NAME>\

\packages, where <WMDIR> is the webMethods 10.1 installation directory.

7. Locate the PD2ArchivingUtility directory.

8. Inside the PD2ArchivingUtility directory, copy the config directory to the

directory created in Step 2.

9. If the target Integration Server instance is installed on a different machine, create

a new directory (e.g., C:\SaveArchivingUtility ) on the target webMethods 10.5

machine and copy the saved configuration files from the directory created in Step

2 to the new directory.

2.2 Shut Down the Integration Server

To shut down the webMethods Integration Server:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

(An Internet Explorer window opens.)

2. In the Address field enter “http(s)://<webMethodsServerName>:<port>” where

<webMethodsServerName> and <port> is the actual webMethods server name

and port number.

(The authentication window opens.)

3. In the authentication window, enter the following information:

• User Name – Enter the user name “Administrator”

• Password – Enter the password for the Administrator user.

4. Click [OK].

(The webMethods Administrator page displays.)

5. Click the Shut Down and Restart link.

(The Server > Shutdown and Restart page displays.)

6. Select the Immediately radio button.

7. Click the [Shut Down] button.

(The shutdown confirmation message box displays.)

8. Click [OK].

(The Server shutdown is in progress message displays.)

2.3 Stop Broker Services

To stop the Software AG Broker Monitor service:

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Windows Services window.

(The Services window opens.)

2. In the Services window, locate the Software AG Broker Monitor 10.5 (port)

service in the Name column.

(The Software AG Broker Monitor 10.5 (port) service is displayed in the

Services window.)

3. Right-click the service name and select Stop from the menu.

(The Stop Other Services window opens.)

4. Click the [Yes] button to stop the webMethods Broker Server service when the

webMethods Broker Monitor service stops.

(The Status column is blank.)

5. Close the Services window.

(The Services window closes.)

2.4 Modify the Windows Service for webMethods Integration

Server

In a typical configuration of the application(s) in the SPS Product Suite the webMethods

Integration Server is running as a Windows service using a system account. In order for

the PDF generation in the PD2 Archiving Utility to work properly, the webMethods

Integration Server must be running using a local account so that the PDF generator can

successfully use the word automation. This local user account should be setup as a

member of the Administrators group.

The following steps should be executed to modify the Windows Service for webMethods

Integration Server if this was not done as part of the webMethods installation.

To modify the Windows Service for webMethods Integration Server to use a local

account:

1. From the Control Panel, select Administrative Tools → Computer

Management.

2. Select Services and Applications → Services.

3. Identify the Software AG Integration Server 10.5 (<instance_name>) service,

where <instance_name> is the Integration Server instance name on which the

PD2 Archiving Utility is to be installed.

4. Click the service to select it.

5. Right-click the selected service and select Properties.

6. Click the Log On tab.

7. Select the This Account radio button.

8. Enter the local user account name.

Note: If the local user account is part of a domain, the account should be entered as

<DomainName>\<LocalUserAccount>; otherwise, the account should be

entered as .\<LocalUserAccount>.

9. Enter the password for the local user account and enter it a second time to

confirm it.

10. Click [OK] to apply the changes.

2.5 List the Database Information

The following table (Table 1) lists the information necessary to successfully

complete the PD2 Archiving Utility upgrade. This table should be completed

before running the PD2 Archiving Utility - Database Upgrade installer program.

Table 1: Database Setup Parameters

Description Value

The name of the existing PD2 Storage database.

The name of the database server that contains the PD2 Storage database.

The IP address of the PD2 Storage database server.

The port of the PD2 Storage database server.

The system administrator login (sa) and password for the PD2 Storage database server.

Description Value

The system administrator login (sa) and password for the PD2 Production database server.

2.6 Verify Existence of Microsoft Libraries

The PD² Archiving Utility - Database Upgrade Installer relies on certain Microsoft

libraries to function.

To verify the existence of Microsoft libraries:

1. On the machine where the PD² Archiving Utility database installer is to be

executed, open a command prompt window as the Administrator.

2. At the command prompt, execute:

"%SYBASE%\OCS-16_0\bin\instjava.exe" -v

3. Confirm that the installjava version is displayed.

If “The system cannot execute the specified program” or “MSVCR110.dll is missing”

displays, the machine does not meet the requirement in the PD² v4.2 Increment 2 SR18

Hardware Software Specifications document.

3. Upgrading PD2 Archiving Utility

The PD2 Archiving Utility must be applied in the following order:

1. Download the PD2 Archiving Utility Executable on a machine that has

webMethods 10.5 and Sybase Open Client 16.0 SP03 PL09 installed.

2. Extract the PD2 Archiving Utility - Database Upgrade installer and the PD2

Archiving Utility - Package installer.

3. Run the PD2 Archiving Utility - Database Upgrade installer from the same client

machine identified in Step 1 above.

4. Run the PD2 Archiving Utility - Package installer from the same client machine

identified in Step 1 above.

Warning: If technical failure (power outage, system outage, etc.) is experienced

during the installation process, the application must be uninstalled prior

to starting the installation process again. Contact the SPS Help Desk for

assistance.

3.1 Download the PD2 Archiving Utility Executable

Prior to beginning the installation process, download “PD² Archiving Utility” from the

PD² Software Library.

To download PD² Archiving Utility Executable:

1. Launch Internet Explorer and log into the SPS web site (http://sps.caci.com).

2. From the Downloads tab, select the PD2 check box under Products/Categories.

(The Downloads list displays the entries related to the PD2 category.)

3. Select the PD² v4.2 Increment 2 SR18 check box under Versions/Releases.

(The Downloads list displays the entries related to the PD2 v4.2 Increment 2

SR18 release.)

4. Click the PD² Archiving Utility v8.0 for SR18 Upgrade link.

(The PD² Archiving Utility v8.0 for SR18 Upgrade page displays.)

5. Click the [Download] button.

(The file download window opens.)

6. Save the file to the computer.

3.2 Unpack the PD2 Archiving Utility Executable

The “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Upgrade.zip” file contains two zip files that are password

protected. Each zip file needs to be extracted into a separate directory folder.

To extract the files:

1. Open the downloaded file in Section 3.1: Download the PD2 Archiving Utility

Executable.

2. Open the “Password.txt” file to obtain the password.

3. Extract all files inside the downloaded zip file to a temporary directory using the

password.

4. In the temporary directory, locate the

“PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18DatabaseUpgrade.zip” file.

5. Extract the content of the “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18DatabaseUpgrade.zip” file

to the temporary directory.

6. Confirm that the “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18DatabaseUpgrade.exe” exists in the

temporary directory.

7. In the temporary directory, locate the “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Package.zip”

file.

8. Extract the content of the “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Package.zip” file to the

temporary directory.

9. Confirm that the “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Package.exe” exists in the

temporary directory.

10. Delete the “Password.txt”, “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18DatabaseUpgrade.zip”,

and “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Package.zip” files in the temporary directory.

11. Delete the downloaded file.

3.3 Upgrading PD2 Archiving Utility – Database

Note: The executable file name for the PD2 Archiving Utility for SR18 – Database

Upgrade Installer is “PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18DatabaseUpgrade.exe”.

1. Open Windows Explorer.

2. Locate the PD2 Archiving Utility for SR18 – Database Upgrade Installer

executable, right-click and select Run as administrator to launch the

Installation Wizard.

Note: The Windows Security Warning/User Account Control message box may

display. Accept the warning to continue.

(The Welcome to the PD2 SR18 Archiving Utility for SR18 Database Upgrade

window opens.)

3. Click the [Next] button.

(The License Agreement window opens.)

4. Read the License Agreement and click the [Yes] button to accept the terms

(The Storage Database Information window opens.)

5. Enter the storage Server and Database name from Table 1 and click the [Next]

button.

(The Storage DB Server Information window opens.)

6. Enter the storage server IP Address in the IP Addr field and Port in the Port

field from Table 1.

Note: In some situations, this information is automatically populated based on the

information from the previous window. If this is the case, verify that the

information is correct.

7. Click the [Next] button.

(The Storage Sybase Login window opens.)

8. Enter the storage server Sybase Super User Login and Sybase Super User

Password from Table 1. This is the password for the user with administrative

rights for the Sybase Server.

9. Click the [Next] button.

The installer performs a series of validations on the storage server and database,

including verifying the version of the database that is currently running. The

installer only updates PD2 v4.2 Increment 2 SR17b storage databases.

Note: If the storage server and database validations fail, focus returns to the Storage

Sybase Login window. Verify that the storage server and database information

was entered correctly. Note that Sybase connectivity information is CASE-

SENSITIVE.

(If the storage server and database validations are successful, the Production

Sybase Login window opens.)

10. Enter the production server Sybase Super User Login and Sybase Super User

Password from Table 1. This is the password for the user with administrative

rights for the Sybase Server.

11. Click the [Next] button.

Note: If the production server and database validations fail, focus returns to the

Production Sybase Login window. Verify that the information was entered

correctly. Note that Sybase connectivity information is CASE-SENSITIVE.

(If the production server and database validations are successful, the Start

Copying Files window opens. The PD2 service release number XX in the

following screen capture varies depending on which service release is being

upgraded.)

12. Review the current settings and click the [Next] button.

(The Setup Status window opens while the installation is in progress.)

Note: Do not close any windows that may open during the installation process. If a

window is closed prior to the completion, the installer cannot upgrade the

PD² Archiving Utility v8.0 for SR18 Upgrade Guide 13 June 2021

database correctly. If this happens, contact the SPS Help Desk for instructions

on how to recover.

(Once complete, the InstallShield Wizard Complete window opens.)

13. Click the [Finish] button to exit the installation.

The upgrade log file 42_2_SR18_ArchivingDBUpgrade.log is located at

<USER_TEMP_DIR>\42_2_SR18_ArchivingDBUpgrade directory, where

<USER_TEMP_DIR> refers to the location in the value of the user’s TEMP environment

variable. If there are any errors during installation, they are logged in this file.

3.4 Upgrading PD2 Archiving Utility – Package

Note: The executable file name for the PD2 Archiving Utility – Package Installer is

“PD2ArchivingUtilitySR18Package.exe”.

1. Use the Windows Task Manager to ensure that gdea.exe is not present in the

Processes tab.

2. Open Windows Explorer.

3. Locate the PD2 Archiving Utility for SR18 – Package Installer executable, right-

click and select Run as administrator to launch the Installation Wizard.

Note: The Windows Security Warning/User Account Control message box may

display. Accept the warning to continue.

SR18 window opens.)

4. Click the [Next] button.

(The Choose Destination Location window opens.)

5. Click the [Browse] button and select the location where the webMethods

Integration Server instance for the PD2 Archiving Utility is configured. The

default instance is configured under the <ISDIR>\instances\default directory,

where <ISDIR> is the Integration Server directory (e.g.,

C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer).

6. Click the [Next] button.

Note: If the installer does not find webMethods Integration Server 10.5, the following

screen displays. Click the [No] button to return to the Choose Destination

Location window and select the correct destination folder.

7. Select the PD2 Archiving Utility’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) port. The PD2

Archiving Utility’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) will be hosted on an instance

of webMethods Application Platform. Application Platform listens on a standard

HTTP port or a secure HTTPS port. Click [HTTP] if you would like the PD2

Archiving Utility’s homepage to point to the Application Platform instance’s

HTTP port, or click [HTTPS] if you would like the homepage to point to the

Application Platform instance’s HTTPS port.

8. Click [Next].

(The Start Copying Files window opens.)

9. Review the installation summary and click the [Next] button.

(The Setup Status window opens)

Note: Do not close any windows that may open during the installation process. If a

window is shut down before the installer is complete, uninstall the PD2 Archiving

Utility, and then reinstall from the beginning.

10. Click the [Finish] button to exit the installation.

4. Post Installation Instructions

4.1 Restore Configuration Files

To restore configuration files:

1. On the machine where the PD2 Archiving Utility v8.0 for SR18 is installed, open

a Microsoft Windows Explorer window.

2. Locate the saved configuration files (e.g., C:\SaveArchivingUtility).

3. Copy the ns directory.

4. Navigate to the

<WMDIR>\IntegrationServer\instances\<INST_NAME>\packages, where

<WMDIR> is the webMethods 10.5 installation directory and <INST_NAME> is

the Integration Server instance name.

5. Locate the ArchivingEnvConfig directory.

6. Inside the ArchivingEnvConfig directory, delete the ns directory.

7. Paste the copied ns directory.

8. Locate the saved configuration files (e.g., C:\SaveArchivingUtility).

9. Copy the config directory.

10. Navigate to the

<WMDIR>\IntegrationServer\instances\<INST_NAME>\packages, where

<WMDIR> is the webMethods 10.5 installation directory and <INST_NAME> is

the Integration Server instance name.

11. Locate the PD2ArchivingUtility directory.

12. Inside the PD2ArchivingUtility directory, delete the config directory.

13. Paste the copied config directory.

4.2 Start the Integration Server Service

To start the Software AG Integration Server service:

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Windows Services window.

(The Services window opens.)

2. In the Services window, locate the Software AG Integration Server 10.5

(<instance_name>) service in the Name column, where <instance_name> is the

Integration Server instance name on which the PD2 Archiving Utility is installed.

(The Software AG Integration Server 10.5 (<instance_name>) service is

displayed in the Services window.)

3. Right-click the service name and select Start from the menu.

Note: It may take several minutes for the webMethods Integration Server to completely

start. The webMethods Integration Server is not completely started following the

completion of the service.

4. Close the Services window.

(The Services window closes.)

4.3 Access the webMethods Administrator Page

To access the webMethods Administrator page:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

(An Internet Explorer window opens.)

2. In the Address field enter “http(s)://<webMethodsServerName>:<port>” where

<webMethodsServerName> and <port> is the actual webMethods server name

and port number.

(The authentication window opens.)

3. In the authentication window, enter the following information:

• User Name – Enter the user name “Administrator”

• Password – Enter the password for the Administrator user.

4. Click [OK].

(The webMethods Administrator page displays.)

4.4 Modify Extended Settings

To modify webMethods Extended settings:

1. From the webMethods Administrator page, click the Settings menu in the left

panel to expand that section.

2. Click the Extended link under Settings in the left panel.

(The Settings > Extended page displays.)

3. If the watt.security.ope.AllowInternalPasswordAccess setting already exists in

the Extended Settings, continue to Step 7.

4. Click the Edit Extended Settings link.

(The Settings > Extended page displays.)

5. Type the string “watt.security.ope.AllowInternalPasswordAccess=true” at the

end of the list in the Extended Settings window.

6. Scroll to the end of the page and click the [Save Changes] button.

(The Settings > Extended page displays.)

7. Verify the value for the watt.security.ope.AllowInternalPasswordAccess setting.

If it is set to “true”, continue to the Section 4.5: Enable JDBC Adapter

Connections.

8. Click the Edit Extended Settings link.

9. Modify the value of the watt.security.ope.AllowInternalPasswordAccess setting

from “false” to “true”.

10. Click the [Save Changes] button.

(The Settings > Extended page displays.)

11. Click the Shut Down and Restart link at the top of the page.

(The Server > Shutdown and Restart page displays.)

12. Select the Immediately radio button.

13. Click the [Restart] button.

(The restart confirmation message box displays.)

14. Click [OK].

(The Server restart is in progress message displays.)

Note: It may take several minutes for the webMethods Integration Server to completely

start.

4.5 Enable JDBC Adapter Connections

To enable the JDBC Adapter connections:

1. From the webMethods Administrator page, click the Adapters menu in the left

panel to expand that section.

2. Click the webMethods Adapter for JDBC link under Adapters in the left panel.

(A new window opens displaying the Adapters > webMethods Adapter for JDBC

> Connections page. The ArchivingEnvConfig:ProductionConnection and

ArchivingEnvConfig:StorageConnection display.)

3. If the ArchivingEnvConfig:ProductionConnection displays Yes in the Enabled

column, disable the connection by clicking the Yes link in the Enabled column.

(A confirmation message displays.)

4. Click [OK].

(The green check mark no longer displays, and the text changes to No.)

5. Click the Edit icon for the ArchivingEnvConfig:ProductionConnection.

(The Adapters > webMethods Adapter for JDBC > Edit Connection page

displays.)

6. Ensure Other Properties contains

APPLICATIONNAME=ARCHIVING;DYNAMIC_PREPARE=false

7. Click [Save Changes].

(The Adapters > webMethods Adapter for JDBC > Connections page displays.)

8. Enable the connection by clicking the No link in the Enabled column.

(A confirmation displays.)

9. Click [OK] to enable the connection. If a green check mark displays next to Yes,

the connection is enabled. If not, click the edit icon and verify that the database-

related information is correct; re-enter as needed.

column, disable the connection by clicking the Yes link in the Enabled column.

13. Ensure that Other Properties contains

APPLICATIONNAME=ARCHIVING;DYNAMIC_PREPARE=false

14. Click [Save Changes].

15. Enable the connection by clicking the No link in the Enabled column.

(A confirmation displays.)

16. Click [OK] to enable the connection. If a green check mark displays next to Yes,

the connection is enabled. If not, click the edit icon and verify that the database-

related information is correct; re-enter as needed.

Note: If a connection cannot be enabled, verify the information specified for that JDBC

connection.

17. Repeat Steps 2 through 6 for other additional Production and Storage database

connection pair.

4.6 Start Broker Services

To start Broker Services:

1. Navigate to the Microsoft Windows Services window.

2. In the Services window, locate the Software AG Broker Monitor 10.5 (port)

service. Right-click on this service and select Start to start the service.

3. Close the Services window.

4.7 Synchronize webMethods Document Types

After installing the PD2 Archiving Utility packages, it is sometimes necessary to

synchronize the publishable webMethods Document Types with the webMethods Broker

Server.

To synchronize the webMethods Document Types:

1. Navigate to the webMethods Administrator page.

2. Click the Packages menu in the left panel to expand that section.

3. Click the Packages > Management link.

8. Enter “All” in the docsToSync field.

9. Enter “ArchivingDocument” in the filterpattern field.

10. Click the [Test (with inputs)] button.

4.8 Verification of PD2 Archiving Utility Installation

This section outlines how to verify that the PD2 Archiving Utility is operational by

accessing the utility.

To access the PD2 Archiving Utility:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

(An Internet Explorer window opens.)

2. In the Address field enter

“http(s)://<webMethodsServerName>:<port>/PD2ArchivingUtilityUI/main.jsp”

where <webMethodsServerName> is the webMethods server machine name and

<port> is the webMethods Application Platform port number, e.g.

http://localhost:8072/PD2ArchivingUtilityUI/main.jsp.

Note: It is not necessary to have a webMethods HTTP port enabled in order to run the

PD2 Archiving Utility on a webMethods HTTPS port.

3. Enter the following information:

• Username – Enter the user name “Administrator”.

• Password – Enter the password for the Administrator user.

4. Click the [Login] button.

(If there is only one connection pair entry, proceed to Step 6. Otherwise the

Select database connections window displays.)

5. Choose a database connection pair by selecting the appropriate radio button and

click [OK].

6. Click the Configure New Archive Process link.

(The Initiate Transfer page displays.)

7. Select the Move data from Production to Storage radio button if not already

selected.

8. Enter a Default Reason (if applicable) and click the [Next] button.

9. Enter search criteria to identify documents in the production database to be

moved to storage and click the [Next] button.

If the search results display, the connection is working.

4.9 Change the webMethods Administrator Password

It is recommended that the webMethods default administrator password be changed to a

password that adheres to the security policies at the site.

Note: If the PD2 Archiving utility is installed on the same webMethods instance as the

PD2 Adapter, then this section can be skipped and the steps laid out in the PD2

Adapter v3.4 for SR18 Installation Guide or PD2 Adapter v3.4 for SR18 Upgrade

Guide document need to be followed to change the webMethods administrator

password.

To change the webMethods administrator password:

1. Log on to the webMethods Administrator page.

2. Click the Security menu in the left panel to expand that section.

3. Click the Security > User Management link.

(The Security > User Management page displays.)

4. Select Administrator from the Select User drop-down list box.

5. Click on the change password link.

6. Enter the new password and confirm it.
