The school consists of 30 eco-club members. The name of the eco-club is “Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Eco – Club”.The activities undertaken by the eco-club regarding the environmen-tal awareness are exceptional.

The following activities have been accomplished by this school in a well determined manner.

1. Rain Water Harvesting plant is set up in the school. The conserved water is used for drink-ing purpose in rainy season. To improve the ground water level Rain Pits and Bore well re-charging maintained by students. Waste water comes from the hand wash is used to school garden.

2. Segregated Waste Disposal done in two separate pits for Bio-Degradable and non- Bio-Degradable waste for vermicomposting unit. The compost is used to school garden.

3. In the Panchavati concept planted Sacred Five Trees, as follows, Which Focus on Mytho-logical and Scientific Importance. i) Aegale marmelos ii) Azadirachta indica iii) Acacia ferruginea iv) Ficus glomerata v) Ficus religiosa

4. Vermicomposting plant is set up in the school. Dried leaves and food waste. 5. Conducted Science Diagram Rangoli Competition. 6. Quiz competition under science & maths subject club. 7. Rally was taken for spreading Environment hygiene awareness under eco club.

8. Got district level Parisara Mitra Award, of year 2016-17, District level Best Student’s Friendly School.

Shri N G B Government High School Shirur, Navalgund taluk, Dharawad district.

The school consists of 41 eco-club members. The name of the eco-club is “Prithvi

Ecoclub”.The activities undertaken by the eco-club regarding the environmental awareness are

exceptional.

The following activities have been accomplished by this school in a well determined manner.

1. Navalgund taluk is draught area in 2010 school has been shifted to new building located at

farm land area, with no water facility. Water supply tap is provided with the help of villagers

& have planted variety of plants.

2. School garden have been established and the students are given the responsibility to maintain

the garden.

3. Adapted the sprinkler method of irrigation for lawn to conserve the water.

4. The school has established different designs of concrete models and Idols in the garden.

5. Secured 1st place in Dharwad district as best eco club school 2016-17

6. In this way in January 2017-18 sculptures relating to academic subjects have been built up &

are produced in front of the garden.

7. Vermicomposting tank is set up in the school garden area. Students maintained and monitor

the compost tank and the compost is uses for garden throughout the year.

8. Local farmer came to school & taught students making of vermicompost.

9. Celebrated world environment day in school on that day students cleaned the garden and sur-

roundings of the school they removed the weeds in the garden and manures the garden which

was prepared in the school by students.

10. On 15-06-2017 started waste segregation in school placed separate bin to put dry and wet

wastes the Purpose is to recycle dry wastes and to use wet waste ad compost when we segre-

gate waste, the surroundings will be cleaned and students learn to clean their environment to

get clean air and reduce air and water pollution.

11. Set up small pond in the garden and planted the lotus flowers for creating awareness on pond

Eco system.

12. Eco-Club members conducted Drawing Computation on “Water Conservation”.

13. Used the Eco friendly Ganesha Idols on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi festival and dis

carded in the pond set up the garden by students.

14. Conducted expert talks on clay Ganapati Idol & no cracker on Dr. Devaraj Desai of Taluk

hospital Navalgund given speech on air pollution due to bursting of fire-crackers and health haz-

ards. Also remind students about clay Ganapati Idol which do not harm environment and statue

made of plaster of paris do not dissolve in water easily & reduces Oxygen level in water.

INTRODUCTION

Eco clubs are the voluntary organizations formed by the students and they are directed by

the Science Teachers of the concerned schools. The students of the school can join this club

with their own will and wish. It is one type of organization which acts as a intermediate in be-

tween the students and environment. The main aim of this club is to bring environment aware-

ness among the students.

Mallikarjuna Girls High School formed the Eco-Club on 03-06-2017 on the same day told

the aim and activities of the Eco-Club are explained by the Science Teacher and the Headmas-

ter, 30 students had come forwarded to join the Eco-Club.

ECO –CLUB INAUGRATION

Its Objectives: Today in this competitive world everybody is aware, talking environment

pollution. But when comes to individual duty nobody does, off course some are sincere and

prompt but they are few countable on fingers. But save our homely planet we must think wide

not fingers. But save our homely planet we must think wide not only that plans should be exe-

cuted quickly… so we thought through the student’s future of the world, well aware about this.

We have working Eco-club and active students.

In the name of Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose who

showed that even plants are having life and play vi-

tal role in balancing Ecology. As this was the fifth

inauguration in our school (first being done in 2012-

13) we once more made our students to know

about this famous personality and were able to in-

spire them through this program.

Our being a village with low literacy rate and ignorant about the effects of our activities on our

environment it was our duty to start this club so as to bring

awareness among the villages about the environmental pollution, its effect and steps to protect

the environment. In the honor of great man we have Eco club and was inaugurated by our head

mistress Smt Nayana on 1th June 2017. On this occasion all staff teachers and students took

oath to protect our Mother planet. The Earth from pollution of any worst and act that way im-

mediately.

World Environmental Day Program

On 5th June 2017 in Govt Urdu High school Jamiyajali

Bhatkal taluk, program has been conducted on the eve of

world environmental day.

First in the there has a procession with slogans to save

our environment to make awareness in the village. After-

wards teachers told about the world environment day

and its importance with all staff there was a tree planta-

tion programme and tree are protected of school. Totally

programme was successful.

Quiz Competition

On July 17th 2016 a quiz compition was held in our

school. The quiz consisted of questions regarding environ-

ment, tree, plants animals, birds etc. first we asked all the

students to collect the leaves of different trees, feathers of

different birds, flowers, fruits, roots etc. Later we asked the

students the name of the trees, birds, animals related to the

things showed. All the teams participated with full enthusi-

asm and tried their level best to answer maximum ques-

tions.

And to make Eco awareness in more meaningful way

we conducted Essay competition. With a beautiful subjects

causes for pollution and prevention. The competition boost-

ed energy of students and they are in good numbers as

competitor and the winner are awarded with prizes. Fifteen

students participated in the essay competition while prepa-

ration of this they added some more knowledge about pol-

lution environment.

Ozone Day Program

On 16th Sep 2017 in Govt Urdu High school Jamiyajali

ternational ozone day with slogan Preservation of the

Ozone layer.

Removel of Plastic Ground School Premise

On 16-9-2017 we conduct the cleanliness programme in our school. Students cleaned all the

plastics which are scattering around our school campus. Science teacher Mr Jainulabideen Jam-

na informed students about the bad effects of plastic burning and throwing on land, by this

programme students know the burning of plastic is one cause of air pollution.

ECO CLUB PROGRAMME REPORT 2017-2018

Introduction : ‘DINAKAR’ Eco Club of JANATA VIDYALAY, KASAKOD established in the

year 2012 conducted various programmes every year. It has a membership of 25 children with

an aptitude of nature study and love towards the nature. They care for the conservation of envi-

ronment and create awareness among the general public. The Eco Club supports the aptitude of

our members by providing opportunities to participate and take care and share their concern

about the protection and conservation of the nature.

World Environment Day (05/06/2017)

"GO WILD FOR LIFE”

The above slogan is for academic year 2017-18 for this purpose rally was taken in Kasar-

kod campus to create awareness about Wild life crime and damages caused by it taken action to

prevent it.. All eco club members,teachers,head mistress, and localites were actively participated

in the rally.

On 01/07/2017 at 11am all Eco club members headmaster and school staff celebrated

vanamahotsava by planting the tree in the school campus. The club incharge gave a speech on

On 10/8/17 all eco club members and in charge teachers together visited the Eco-beach, there

they studied about the bio fuel plants and their yields and also observe the biogas plant.

Vanamahotsava

During 6-6-2017 Raman Eco Club celebrated Vanamahotsava in our school garden. The headmaster of

our school / Shri.Arun P.Rane our additional secretary Shri G.P Kamat as well as our Eco Club Members and

teachers too planted some mango saplings and some flowering plants. By planting these saplings we celebrated

Vanamohotava with great delight and joy.

The activities organized under Eco-Club in the Academic Year 2017-18

1. Vanamahotsava: Vanamahotsava is an annual tree planting movement in India, which began in the year

1950. The name Van Mahotsava means Festival of forest. It has gained significant national im-portance and every year, millions of saplings are planted across Indian in observation of Van Mahotsava week. Our school celebrated Vanamahotsava in the month of July with great enthusiasm and fervor. Various activities such as skit, song, dance and sapling plantation were conducted to commemorate the occasion. Shri Shrikant Hegde, Director of Agricultural Office, Kumta was the guest on the occasion. The guest in their speech lauded the efforts of the students and spoke about the im-portance of saving the environment by planting trees. Sr. Francina, Headmistress, Nirmala High School, Kumta urged the young brigade to be proactive in conserving nature by planting trees not only in the school, but also in their neigh-borhood. Later students planted the saplings along with teachers and pledged to SAVE MOTH-

ER EARTH.

2. World Ozone Day: We observed World Ozone Day on 16th of September 2017 to bring the awareness towards the health hazards and ecological imbalance caused by the depletion of the Ozone layer present in the atmosphere. The students of Std X gave a presentation through charts and models, highlighting the main factors responsible for this destruction caused in the atmos-phere and its detrimental results on all living beings. Children insisted on minimizing the use of such modern equipments like refrigerators and ACs which release the harmful EFC compound that is the root cause of weakening of the ozone layer which protects the earth from the harmful ultra violet rays of sun. Sr. Francina, Headmistress of the Institution appreciated the efforts of the students and asked them to aware and awake the public to take care of the steps.

3. Cleanliness Drive: Our school organized cleanliness drive on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi. The main pur-

pose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Under this programme, all the students from VIII to X had participated. Teachers were the essential part of this drive, we all had to clean the whole school

4. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Chart Display Competition.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) or clean India Mission is a campaign in India that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s cities, smaller towns and rural areas.

The school observed swachh Bharath Abhiyan from 01-09-2017 to 14-09-2017 . The stu-dents of various classes were participated in chart displaying competition. Students took mass participation in chart displaying the following teams were got prizes.

5. Medicinal plants exhibition: Science has become an integral part of the modern world without which the whole socie-

tal structure risks collapse. A Science exhibition being an interface of science and society con-tribute towards creating awareness of about science as well as creating enthusiasm in students. This year we had “Exhibition of medicinal plants” at school. Plants have been used for medici-nal purposes long before prehistoric period. Traditional systems of medicine continue to be widely practiced on many accounts.

Medicinal plants exhibition for public awareness to stay healthy. A team of teachers summoned to guide the students to help them become the best future of tomorrow through the knowledge of medicinal plants and their usage to stay healthy life long.

Students were actively participated in this competition. Students of VIII and IX displayed medicinal plants/ products successfully. Some of the participants were explained the method of synthesis of extract and juices from medicinal plants. And also they were explained the uses of medicinal plants for some health issues. Dr. Bharathi and Mrs. Roopa were the judges for this comnpetiion. The following students got prizes.

6. School Gardening: School Garden project is committed to future in

which children become healthy adults who eat fruits and vegetables, know the basics of growing food steward the natural world and contribute to a thriving community. We advance our vision by helping schools develop on site vegetables gardens, where we teach children the basics of growing food, using the garden as an outdoor Laboratory. We also provided material and resources. Students of VIII and IX were actively participated in the gardening work like watering, caring, applying manure etc.

We have organized a Quiz competition on 27-11-2017. Fifteen students selected for oral

completion. The Eco-Club Co-ordinator Shri G. R. Nayak worked as quiz master. He asked the question about environment, The other members also present in this programme & have the ben-efit of quiz competition.

Subject : A Huge Processions (Rallies) related to Environment Conservation.

A Procession (Rallies) held by our Eco-Club Students of S.S.Bhavikeri on 02-12-2017 at

10.00 A.M around the Bhavikeri Rural area. This Rally made awareness among the people of

village and also public about the importance of our Environment. And the Environment disas-

trous. 101 student participated in this precession and made it Successful. Shree Prashant G.

Nayak, Assistant Teacher taken the responsibility of this Rally. After this rally a small skit was

done by the students in the school sabhabhavana about environment.

Subject : Cleanliness over the Bhavikeri Sea-shore Beach ‘Arabbi Samudra’ On 10-02-2017 our School students left to the beach around 9.00 A.M and then they cleaned the beach of Harikantrawada about half K.M and the student happily participated in this work and they thought that we should be clean always. They got the idea about Kandla Trees and the micro plants grown on the beach. They are to be protected for our future. Afterwards they came back to the school and they cleaned our school surroundings.

tions like Water pollution. Air pollution and sound pollution and also Human mind pollutions.
