WHO ARE WE?

The F.A.C.E. Team was established as an outreach committee to communicate what the court had to offer in the following areas, customer service, initiatives, educational partnerships, potential recruitment opportunities, internships, and volunteer programs.

The F.A.C.E. Team consists of:

Ombudsman/Community Liaison EEO/Affirmative Action Officer Volunteer Coordinator Services Training Coordinator

Ombudsman/Community Liaison

• Conduct Outreaches into Local Communities

• Attend Outreach Events with EEO/AA & Volunteer

• Coordinator & provide information and support to Court Greeters

• Improve Court Access to Court Users

• Continue efforts with Media Outlets, TV, Radio, etc.

EEO/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION OFFICER

Conduct Outreaches into Local Communities

• Focus on grassroots community outreach, i.e. middle & high schools, churches, civic organizations

• Conduct Career and Recruitment Orientations

• Work with Minority Concerns Committee

• Improve court access to court users

• Provide information on recruitment information via media outlets

• Contact key community leaders in schools and churches for tours

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR SERVICES

• Conduct outreaches into local communities

• Conduct specific outreaches to local civic organizations, churches, etc.

• Write letters to local community leaders

• Recruit and train volunteers to serve as greeters

• Use local media as an outreach tool for public access

• Assist with court tours as needed

• Assist with training as needed

• Collect key contact information

• Assist with outreach materials as needed

• Coordinate tours for employees as part of re-orientation

• Coordinate training events as needed

• Providing measurement tools to gauge success or lack thereof

C.O.P. Committee• The new C.O.P. (Community Outreach Partnership) Committee was

implemented by the F.A.C.E. Team to centralize divisional community outreach efforts.

– Enable us to see if we are meeting the community needs, and to help eliminate unknowns, namely who is doing what/where.

– Evaluate and monitor successes

– Support, coordinate, share and spotlight efforts

– Centralizing all of the courts efforts

– Outline of a Judiciary Story to ensure consistency of information delivery

– Representatives from each division and courthouse are on the committee. Meetings are held on an as needed basis

– An evaluation form is now used to get feedback from the organizations that we partner with

– A site was created to capture all Vicinage Community Outreach efforts

PARTNERSHIP FOR LEARNING

A Learning Partnership Brochure was created and mailed to various community organizations to explain our program.

COURTS AND COMMUNITY SHARING RESPONSIBILITY

For the 2008-09 school years the Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage developed a series of workshops on court related topics to share with sophomore, junior and senior students, at risk students and students who are victims or witnesses of crimes. Each session will last 35 minutes.
