Installing\Uninstalling the Mezzanine Helium Android application

Uninstalling the Helium Application

1. Click on settings

2. Select “More” at the top right

3. Select “Application manager”

4. Scroll down until you find “Helium”

5. Click on “Uninstall”

6. Click on “Uninstall”

Change APN settings on device

Go to Settings / Connections

1. Delete existing APN’s2. On bottom right menu:

+ New APN3. Enter Name and APN detail –

with details from Vodacom

Installing the Mezzanine helium Android application

1. You will receive a SMS with a URL link (internet address) * Important Note – training partner must send this SMS to each device invited

Open messages, click on the URL link in the SMS, and select ‘Open URL’.

That will redirect you to the site with address for example:

https://kenya.mezzanineware.com/apk/Android-Client-1.2.6.apk

2. Select web browser

Complete action by selecting Internet web browser, and clicking on ‘Just once’

3. Save file

Keep the Helium Android file by selecting - ‘Ok’.

4. Download complete - notification bar

On your device - Swipe down on the screen to open notification bar.

Wait for the Helium Android download to complete. Then tap on the item that has just been downloaded to open the link.

5a. Allowing an installation from ‘Unknown sources’

You will probably receive a warning that the installation is blocked because the application does not originate from the Play Store. Just click on Settings.

Then find the “Unknown Sources” option and select that.

5b. Allowing an installation from ‘Unknown sources’

Agree to Unknown sources by selecting ‘OK’.

You will see a check mark now appears next to the option in your Security Settings menu.

The download will continue.

If you need to download again in future – this step will be needed again

Allow access to all required functionality on the device.

Just keep pressing Next until the Install option appears in the bottom right-hand corner. Then click on that Install option.

The application will now install.

7. Done – App installed

Once the App has installed, click on the Open button to open the App.

8. Applications

From your Home screen, navigate to the page where you can see the Mezzanine helium logo.

You will receive another SMS with your Helium login details.

Once you have received these, open the helium app.

9. Logging In

Use the username which you have received via SMS – this will be an international phone number (eg. 254716201555).

Also complete the PIN code you have received in a separate SMS.

Then enter the PIN received from the server and click the arrow to continue.

9. Personal details

Enter your name and surname as person receiving the device.

Next choose a PIN that you won’t forget, and enter it in the ‘Enter a new PIN’ field.

Use something simple like “0000” on behalf of the users… as they will be required to enter this each time they open the app.
