PARISH NEWSMISSION CO-OP COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND, September 11th -12th: The Roman Catholic Prelature of Isabela de Basilan: Basilan is just a small island located at the tip and southwest of the Philippine archipelago. With a land area of 442 square miles and with more or less 459,367 inhabitants, 124,029 of which are Christians, and the rest are Muslims. The Prelature of Isabela de Basilan was created on October 12, 1963, and its titular patroness is Sta. Isabel de Portugal (St. Elizabeth of Portugal, Queen. Feast day is July 8th), and the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the Secondary Patroness. The Most Rev. Leo M Dalmao, CMF DD is the 4th Bishop Prelate of our Prelature. Ours is just a small island, but we gained an International attention beginning the year 2001 because of the notoriety of the infamous Abu Sayyaff Group (ASG), who kidnapped Martin and Gracia Burnham and some businessmen from Dos Palmas Resort in Palawan. The ASG has been designated as a terrorist group by the United Nations. This merciless international terrorist group, who are on drugs, are responsible not only for the numerous deaths of our soldiers and policemen, but also for the kidnapping of priests and church lay workers and the bombing of our parish churches and cathedra. I said merciless because they rape and torture their victims and sometimes they put on videos of those victims they are beheading while shouting "Allah Huakbar" (Allah is Great).
OVERVIEW OF THE MASS – WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT: Fr. Jeff invites all parishioners to join him for a tour through the celebration of the Mass, looking at each part of the Mass; what it means and why we do it. This is a great way to learn more about the Mass we celebrate every weekend as Catholics. This dry-run is for everyone in the parish. This will be on Monday, October 11, 7:00 p.m in our church. All are cordially invited to attend!
THE ST. MARGARET MEN’S CLUB will be selling their delicious Subs after all Masses THIS WEEKEND, September 11th and 12th. Help support our Men’s Club and pick up a few sub sandwiches for the game!

St. Margaret is unique in offering this program for our 3-5-year-olds and is based on the self-teaching principals of Maria Montessori. Volunteering for our program is perfect for families who already have children in our PSR program and/or for anyone who loves working with children and helping them to learn the foundations of our faith through play-based learning. If you’re interested in more information, please call or text Lisa Latorre at 614-579-0220.
PARISH MINISTRY SCHEDULING: Just a friendly reminder about our parish ministries: If you or any member of your family are a Lector, Server, Usher/Greeter or Eucharist Minister, please remember it is now time to schedule the days and times of the Masses that you or your family member would like to serve. Go to the St. Margaret webpage, stmargaretcolumbus.org, open the MINISTRIES drop down, open "Ministry Scheduler Pro” and fill in your choice of Masses that you would like to serve. Also, a reminder for those who stay or come in for Eucharistic Adoration to please sign up for the times that you will be in the church.
The process in which adults enter the Roman Catholic Church is known as RCIA, “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.”Who is eligible for this process? The Unbaptized: The primary focus of the Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults is on those who are not already Christian and have not been catechized, having little or no religious education.Baptized, but un-catechized have been baptized either as a Roman Catholic or as member of another Christian denomination. However, these did not receive further catechetical formation or instruction and have not celebrated the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation or the Holy Eucharist. Those seeking Full Communion with the Catholic Church are baptized, practicing Christians from other denominations who seek entry into the Roman Catholic Church. If you know someone who might be interested, please call Sharon Curtin at 614-563-8405, or the parish secretary, Barb Maiberger, at 614-279-1690, or register online at stmargaretcolumbus.org. FALL PARISH CONSULTATION SESSIONS COMING! As part of the ongoing strategic process for Real Presence, Real Future, the Diocese of Columbus will be hosting Consultation Sessions for each parish throughout the fall. Two Sessions will be held via Zoom video-conferencing for each parish in the Diocese. St. Margaret will hold their sessions on October 2nd and October 9th, 9:00-11:00 a.m. Facilitators will guide parishioners through important statistical and Sacramental information relevant to the Diocese as a whole, to parishes in surrounding areas, as well as individual parish information. Parishioner participation in these sessions is critical to helping shape the future of the Diocese of Columbus. The Parish Consultation Sessions are a vital part of the planning process that encourages parishioners to offer insights and perspective on the future planning of their parish. The feedback provided during these sessions will be used to draft new models for review by parishioners in early 2022. The consultation process will continue throughout 2022 until final models are approved. No decisions have been made regarding any parish, and none will be made until feedback is gathered directly from parishioners through the consultation process. Every parishioner in the Diocese is encouraged to attend! Please plan to participate and invite others to do the same. Registration is required by logging onto www.realpresencerealfuture.org. Even if you are not able to participate, register anyway. All registrants will receive a link to the recording via email after the session.
