Welcome & Introductions

Background & Purpose

The purpose of the ICPC committee is to reduce costs of goods and services by providing public entities with cost-cutting opportunities. By agreeing on competitive specifications, contract terms and conditions for items of common usage, participants can combine their requirements for a single request for competitive sealed bids, requests for proposal, competitive or sole source negotiations. In addition, multiple member usage of individual member's agreements shall be promoted as deemed appropriate.

10 Easy Steps for facilitating an ICPC Summit

1. Attend ICPC planning meeting.

2. Seek name(s)/contact information from ICPC committee representatives of key buyers responsible for particular commodity/service contracts of interest.

3. Seek assistance from ICPC committee representatives to make initial contact with their buyers and to confirm management approval of their participation as a Summit presenter.

4. Follow up with ICPC committee representative as to the status of their initial contact with the designated buyer(s).

5. Contact (telephone) panelists with general information about the Summit and review what is being asked of them to prepare:

1. Powerpoint Presentation

2. Copies of contracts/handout materials

3. Internet website navigation to online contract(s)

6. eMail Invitation to Presenters (in .pdf) confirming in writing what is being asked of them and identifying confirmed panelist participation. See attached example.

7. Prepare Invitation and Agenda (in .pdf) and eMail to ICPC Committee Chairperson for final approval. See today’s example.

8. Forward approved Invitation and Agenda to CO-OPP Public Relations Committee Chairperson for distribution via the CO-OPP Chapter Manager website to the general membership.

9. Request RSVP from members either through Chapter Manager or directly to ICPC Chairperson (preferred process to be determined).

10. eMail parking passes to presenters and members that have RSVP’d their attendance.

11. At the Summit event, the facilitator shall greet presenters and members, introduce the presenters, and support the ICPC Chairperson to keep the meeting on track and on schedule.
