1.8 Computer Training at MITE Mijar and Shayadri College of Engineering and

Management

One day workshop on computer basics and Excel for the final year Students

One day workshop on Excel was organized for the final year students at Sahydri

College of Engineering & management on 24th August 2018. The students were trained

on basics of excels, accounting through the help excel and other inputs. The students

had a better understanding of the computer and excel skills.

One day workshop on Excel was organized for the final year students at MITE,

Moodbidri on 15th February 2019. The accounting through the help excel and other

inputs. The students were equipped with lot of knowledge by the experts of that college.

2.1 Workshop on how to face an interview.

Prof Ronald pinto, Ex- principal of St. Aloysius College and trainer conducted a

workshop on how to face an interview and job opportunities to the final year BBM

students on 12.02.2018

2.2 Guest lecture on Skills required for the competitive world

Prof. Mithun Ullal, Assistant professor, Sahydri College of Engineering & management

delivered a lecture on Skills required for the competitive world on 15/02/2018 for final

year BBM and B Com students. He discussed various aspects of career goal and

realization with examples.

2.3 Guest lecture on Corporate world and job opportunities

19.02.2018- Prof Ashley D’Souza and Prof Narayan of Vivekananda Institute of

Management conducted session on “Corporate World and Job opportunities” for final

year students.

2.4 EduSAT on Entrepreneurship Development

The students of final year students were explained the importance of being an

entrepreneur and how entrepreneur can bring a change for the nation’s economy. It was

an audio-visual presentation.

2.5 Skill Development training:

7th September 2018: One day training on skill development to final year students. This was in

connection with JCI Jodumarga Nethravathi and Rotary Club Bantwal Town. The resource

persons were Mr. Umesh Nirmal and Bantwal Sarvottham Baliga.

2.6 Guest lecture on Personal grooming and interview skills:

11th October 2018- Dr Raghavendra Holla, Manager SEZ along with Jaycee week 2018 Sath

Sur conducted a training on “ Personal grooming and interview skills” to all the First year,

Second year and Third year students of BBA.

2.7 Guest lecture on Global etiquettes:

30th January 2019: Prof Karthik Raj of Justice K.S Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte did a

one hour special lecture on “Global etiquettes- the need of the hour”. He expressed his view

as to how the students should have an goal, self discipline and time sense in the corporate life.

Dr. Lokesh, HOD of Commerce introduced and gave the introductory remarks. Final year

Students from both B.Com and BBA were present during this session.

2.8 Guest lecture on Stress Management and Soft skills

28th February 2019: Dr. Latha Krishnan, Director of MBA of P.A. College of Engineering,

Centre of Management Studies and Research, Mangaluru did a one hour special lecture on

“Stress Management and Soft skills”. She effectively expressed her view as to how the students

of today are stressed and how this would affect their overall personality highlighting the

importance of soft skills in such scenario. Final year Students from both B.Com and BBA were

present during this session.

2.9 Guest lecture on Taxation policy:

Chartered Accountants Ashok G U and Raj Kishor of Samartha Academy gave a lecture

to the final year students on 11th March 2019 about taxation policy. They gave an

overview of GST system. Prof Chitra Padiyar, Asst prof, Management introduced the

guests. Dr Lokesh and Prof Priti K Rao were present at this program.

2.10 24th August 2019- One day Life Skill Training

IQAC, NSS, Nimhans(Bangalore) and Yuvaspandana (D.K). Prof Santosh Prabhu and

Akshatha Bajpe was the trainer for this programme. IQAC Coordinator was present for this

program. Prof Ganapati Bhat. K presided over the program.

2.11 24th January 2020- National Tourism day was celebrated on 24th January 2020.

The objective of this program is to give insights about the tourism sector in India. Mr. Prajwal Santosh

was the chief guest of the program. Prof Ravi Shankar, the IQAC coordinator presided over the program.

Students benifited from this program with respect to the employment opportunities and the tourism

places in India. Quiz competitions were conducted and group presentations by final year students with

respect to selected states were done. Ms Rachana and Ms. Smitha compered the program. Prof Priti K

Rao told the significance of this day. Ms. Nirmala delivered the vote of thanks.

2.12 13th March 2020- Ms. Nivedita Mirajkar and Ms. Preetham Kamath, Soft skill

trainers, Mangaluru did special session for the BBA Students on the topic “Campus to

corporate”. They gave training on resume writing, Group discussion and interview skills. This

was jointly organised by IQAC and Placement and Career Cell. Principal Prof Ganapathi Bhat

K presided over the program. Prof Chitra Padiyar, placement coordinator and Prof Priti K Rao,

HOD, Department of Management were present during this program. Ms. Smitha Compered

the program.

2.13 Workshop on Goods & Service Tax

Mr. Ravi MN conducted a workshop on Goods & Service Tax for the B Com students on

12/07/2018. He discussed the inception of GST and its implications on economy

16th January 2019: Shri Krishna Upadhyay of Ramakrishna Mission delivered a guest

lecture on Swami Vivekananda 125th year Chicago Speech lecture series. Prof Ganapati

Bhat Kulamarva was the president of the program. Ms. Samiksha anchored the

program.
