Community & Family Resources Group

April 2009

How did it all start?

The group came about by the team having a little money that was used to top-up the toy appeal in 2003.

By 2004 the group had a bank account and had formed a constitution with charitable aims.

Raising the Money

The group has organised various events over the past few years to raise money, some of these events have been-

• Cake Mornings

• Soup Lunches

• Car Boot

• Raffles

• Christmas mince pie and quiz mornings

Donations Received

The group has received donations from various people and organisations-

• National Provisional Grand Lodge

• L N S Garage, St Asaph

• Supporting Children’s Team

• Lion’s Club

• Donation’s from Various members of staff

Monies Raised and Spent

To date the group has raised

£11,910

To date the group has spent

£10,761

Who Benefits

Disadvantaged families within the Conwy Borough area who are supported by the Children and Families Department.

Grants

Family Outings Grant from the Conwy Voluntary Services Council

Trip to the Zoo – 13 Families

Trip to the Sun Centre – 5 Families

Total supported people = 28 Adults

= 53 Children

All of the above received £10 travelling expenses

All-Terrain Wheelchairs

Secured funding from Sport

Relief for 2 All-Terrain

Wheelchairs

The Community Foundation in Wales

Y Sefydliad Cymunedol yng Nghymru

Christmas Hampers

241 families have benefited from Christmas Hampers since 2005

Total of -

= 292 Adults

= 601 Children
