It is a polytechnic institute whose objective is to train high caliber, carrer focus, middle level technical persons with the requisite knowledge and skills for all sectors of the economy. For industry, the graduates of Wa polytechnic are suppose to convert resources and ideas into goods and services.

BACKGROUND CONT’DEstablished by the Polytechnics Act 2007, Act 745

Mandate:• Provide tertiary education in the fields of

manufacturing, commerce, science, technology, applied social science, applied arts and any other field approved of by the Minister; and

• Provide opportunities for skills development, applied research and publication of research findings.

• Supervised by the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE),

• Governed by the Polytechnic Council • Offers National Board of Professional

and Technician Examination (NABPTEX) and National Accreditation Board (NAB) approved Higher National Diploma Programmes.
