The rationale behind training

community members as volunteer

response teams is to prepare

individuals, first to help themselves

and their families and then neighbors

in the event of a disaster.

will not be able to help everyone immediately, people with training and practice and by working as a team,will be able to make a difference in reducing the loss of life in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.

Civil Defence workers tried to reach by walking to E.Q survivals in Sichuan/China mountains.

Trained community disaster volunteer is not meant to replace the professional first responders.

It is intended as a community self-help program to be used in

times of disaster until the professionals arrive.

It provides people on the scene, who have basic training in

first-aid and triage
