To Our Parents, Students, Patrons, Teachers, Administrators, and Staff, Following is the ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE INDICATOR SYSTEM (AEIS) REPORT compiled by the Texas Education Agency for our school district for the 2010-2011 school year. According to Texas Education Code §39.053, each district is required to publish an annual report that includes the AEIS report, campus performance objects, a report of violent or criminal incidents, and information received under TEC §51.403(e) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). The District must hold a hearing for public discussion of the report, then make the AEIS report available to the public. The AEIS Report is a compilation of information collected by the Texas Education Agency from each district through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), as provided for by legislation. The report includes a state report, a district report, and campus reports, each of which contains a Performance Section and a Profile Section. The AEIS report includes many types of indicators used to measure performance --Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) scores, completion and dropout rates, attendance rates, Student Success Initiative (SSI) results, college admission tests (SAT/ACT), Texas Success Initiative measures, Advanced Placement and dual credit results, TAKS/TAKS-ACC/TAKS-M/TAKS-Alt participation, advanced course completion, and data quality indicators. The AEIS also includes tax information showing the adopted tax rate for maintenance and operations, interest and sinking fund, and the sum of the two. The report includes prior year data when available and the Campus Performance Objectives for each campus. Financial information for the district and for each campus is also included in the report. For more information on our district, link to the TEA web site from the District web page at www.pisd.us or visit the TEA website at www.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/aeis/2010/index.html for information about Pleasanton ISD or any other district and/or campus in the state of Texas. The information included in this report is the basis for the District’s Improvement Plan and for each campus's annual Campus Improvement Plan. The district plan is developed by the Districtwide Educational Improvement Council (DEIC) and recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval; campus plans are developed by each campus, and identified areas of needed improvement and the necessary actions to improve these areas by establishing academic and other performance objectives for each academic excellence indicator are included. Campus Improvement Plans are developed each school year by the campus principal and the Campus Performance Objectives Council, composed of parents, community residents, and campus staff. Campus Improvement Plans are available for all campuses. In addition, a summary of this report, the campus School Report Card (included in this report), is sent to parents of students of each campus with the third six weeks or second nine week report cards. Pleasanton I.S.D. respectfully submits its 2010-2011 Annual AEIS Report, as reviewed by the District's Board of Trustees at the regular meeting held December 13, 2011, to the Pleasanton community.
