ACTION AND ADVENTURE THRILLER FILMS..

Action Thriller: The features of an action adventure film are explosions, gun scenes and car chases. Thriller contains plot twists, suspense and hero in trouble. Many of the James Bond films are examples of this genre.

1930’SMR. MOTO TAKES A VACATION (1939)

Mr. Moto takes a vacation was released on the 7th July, 1939 and was directed by Norman Foster.

Mr Moto who is disguised as a German Archaeologist, discovers the Queen of Sheba’s crown and must protect it from criminals.

1940’SBERLIN EXPRESS (1948)

The Berlin Express was released on the 1st May, 1948 and was directed by Jacques Tourneur.

An unexpected group of train passengers accidentally become involved in a world war 2 assassination plot.

ROGUES’ REGIMENT (1948)Rogues’ Regiment was released on the 28th

September, 1948. It was directed by Robert Florey.

This film is a mixture of ex world war 2 soldiers, stolen identities, art dealers and jungle warfare.

1950’SNORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959)

North by Northwest was released on the 22nd November 1959 and was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The film was rated a PG.A New York advertising executive is wrongly accused of being a government agent and is pursued by foreign spies. On his journey he has to find ways to survive.

REAR WINDOW (1954) Rear Window was released on the 14th January

1954, and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The certificate of the film is a 12A.

Overlooking his neighbours, a wheelchair bound photographer discovers that there could be a potential murderer.

1960’SDR. NO (1962)

Dr. No was a James Bond film released on the 6th October, 1962. The director was Terence Young and the certificate of the film was a PG.‘Dr No’ leaves James Bond in Jamaica searching for a missing colleague which leads him to unveil a plot to end the U.S space programme

SALT AND PEPPER (1968)

Salt and Pepper was released on the 3rd July, 1968. It was directed by Richard Donner and was rated a PG.

Charles Salt and Christopher Pepper, owners of London Nightclub find the body of a murdered female agent leading them to an investigation about an evil plot potentially over throwing the government.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963)From Russia with love was another James Bond film which was released on the 11th October 1963. It was directed by Terence Young which was rated a PG.A soviet encryption device which was stolen by SPECTRE, has to be retrieved by James Bond.

1970’STHE FRENCH CONNECTION (1971)

The French Connection was released on the 9th October, 1971. It was directed by William Freidkin and was rated an 18.Two NYC cops in the Narcotics Bureau come across a drug smuggling job with a French connection.

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN (1974)

The man with the golden gun was another bond film which was released on the 19th December, 1974. The director was Guy Hamilton and was rated a PG.James Bond thinks he is targeted by the world's most expensive assassin and must hunt him down and try to stop him.

1980’STHE RUNNING MAN (1987)

The running man was directed by Paul Michael Glaser and was released on the 21st October, 1987. The film was rated an 18.An arrested man must try to survive a public execution gauntlet staged as a TV game show but have they got the right man?

THE LETHAL WEAPON (1987)

The Lethal Weapon was released on the 28th August, 1987 and directed by Richard Donner. The certificate of the film was an 18.

THE ROCK (1996)

The Rock was released on the 21st June, 1996. It was directed by Michael Bay and rated a 15.A lone general and his group of U.S. Marines take over Alcatraz and threaten San Francisco Bay with different weapons but will the weapons specialist and the only man to escape from the rock cause trouble.

ENEMY OF THE STATE (1998)ACTION THRILLER

Enemy of the State was released on the 26th December 1998 and was directed by Tony Scott. The film was rated a 15.A lawyer accidentally receives evidence to a seriously motivated crime and becomes the target by a corrupt politician.

2000’SRED PLANET (2000)

Red Planet was released on the 1st December 2000. It was directed by Antony Hoffman and rated a 12.Earth is dying so astronauts travel to mars in order to save it but will they face troubles along their way?

THE BOURNE SUPREMACY (2004)The Bourne Supremacy was released on the 13th

August, 2004 and was directed by Paul Greengrass. The certificate of the film was a 12A.

Hanna was released on the 6th may, 2011 and was directed by Joe Wright. It was rated a 12A. A young 16 year old is dispatched across Europe as her father wanted her to be the perfect assassin. Will Hanna be tracked?
