Take a break from the cold, gray weather of winter and join us as we spend eight wonderful days on the warm and sunny island paradise of Treasure Island, Florida. You can enjoy every part of the resort from the beach to all the amenities offered, plus choose fun day trips to Tarpon Springs, Sarasota and St. Petersburg!
On Sunday you fly to Tampa, cross the drawbridge and see the sparkling water of Boca Ceiga Bay, the eastern border of Treasure Island. This quaint, seaside resort town is only 5.3 square miles and boasts three miles of soft, white, sand beaches, pristine waters and beautiful sunsets. Then, settle in your Beachfront Premium Studio room at the Bilmar Beach Resort for seven nights.
The next day, start your morning off right with a cup of coffee from the coffee bar and take a stroll along the beach. Today is yours to relax and enjoy as you wish. The Suncoast Trolley also picks-up in front of the hotel for easy access to wonderful places like shopping restaurants, entertainment and the boardwalk.
After a leisurely breakfast the next morning, you head to Tarpon Springs. A local guide acquaints you with the history of the town, how Greek sponge divers settled it in the early 1900s and a Greek community still thrives there. Next is a sponge diver boat ride to learn how sponge diving is done and then enjoy a festive Greek lunch at Hellas starting with a traditional flaming cheese.
Use the next day to relax and enjoy Treasure Island. You can get a day pass for the Suncoast Trolley and get on and off as you please. With many stops along the way, the trolley goes as far south as Pass-A-Grille and as far north as Clearwater Beach. You can visit the neighboring Madeira Beach and walk its boardwalk or even catch a dolphin cruise.
Sleep in a little the next morning before
you depart for Sarasota. Your first
stop is the wonderful John and Mable
Ringling Museum of Art, a 66-acre
museum complex featuring the State
Museum of Florida, Circus Museum, Ca’
d’Zan Mansion and Bayfront Gardens.
The next stop is St. Armand’s Circle,
the sophisticated, outdoor dining and
shopping area where you have lunch at
Crab & Fin Restaurant then time to stroll
the circle. Back at the resort you have
an evening free to enjoy the nightlife in
Treasure Island.
Enjoy your Friday sunning, shelling,
shopping or just relaxing. There is a
farmer’s market that features everything
from pineapples to jewelry only a block
away. Saturday morning you depart
for fabulous downtown St. Petersburg
where the Saturday morning Farmer’s
Market is a very popular activity for
locals and visitors alike. Browse through
all the stands varying from gourmet
food items, arts, crafts and clothing
or you have a seat and enjoy live
entertainment and grab lunch at one of
the many food booths. In the evening
you enjoy a sunset cruise complete
with beer, wine, lively music and lots of fun. As the sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll have bittersweet feelings about the close of your wonderful trip to Treasure Island.
The next morning, walk the beach
before heading back to the Tampa
airport to head home. This eight-day
tour includes round trip airfare and
all motorcoach transportation, seven-
nights stay, nine meals, admissions and
gratuities all for $2,599 per person

1. Claiming too early
When you reach your full retirement
age (FRA), your full monthly Social
Security benefit becomes entitled to you.
However, most people tend to claim their
social security benefits early. This isn’t
necessarily a bad thing but, it does have
some setbacks.
Claiming too early can permanently
reduce your monthly payout. You could
see a reduction of anywhere from 25% to
30% when you take your payout as soon
as possible, depending on your birth year.
2. Waiting too long before claiming
Your benefit amount will not increase if
you delay claiming past your seventieth
(70) birthday. Delayed retirement credits
boost benefits by 8% annually for
people who haven’t claimed SS past full
retirement age. Any retirement credits
stop accruing at age 70, regardless of
your filing status.
3. Not applying for widow’s or
widower’s benefits
Survivor’s benefits can financially help
survivors of workers and retirees. Eligible
survivors can file for benefits when
they turn 60 years old, if your deceased
spouse or former spouse worked long
enough under Social Security.
For widows and widowers, you can
receive benefits:
• At age 60 or older.
• At age 50 or older if disabled.
• At any age if you take care of a child
of the deceased who is younger than
age 16 or disabled.
For divorced widows and widowers,
you can receive benefits:
• At age 60 or older if the marriage to
the deceased lasted at least 10 years.
• At age 50 or older if disabled and the
marriage to the deceased lasted at
least 10 years.
• At any age if they take care of a child
of the deceased who is younger than
age 16 or disabled.
For more information about Social
Security Survivor Benefits, visit Social
Security’s website.
4. Not taking taxes into consideration
Your Social Security payments are subject
to taxation about certain income limits.
For many Americans, Social Security is
taxable. Those receiving Social Security
benefits often pay taxes on up to half or
even 85% of money they receive. This is
due to the combination of Social Security
and other income that puts them over the
low threshold for taxes to begin. Although
paying taxes on Social Security can cost
you, there are ways to reduce the amount
you pay. Be sure to discuss this with your
tax professional.

PLANNING FOR REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTIONS IN 2021John Bailey, CFP® - Senior Vice President & Wealth Management Advisor with Central Trust Company
IS IT TIME TO REVIEW YOUR ESTATE PLAN?When was the last time you reviewed your estate plan? If you haven’t reviewed your plan since the day you originally signed
documents at your attorney’s office, you’re not alone. The vast majority of people simply don’t think about creating an estate
plan and, of those who do, few seldom make a point to regularly re-visit their plan to ensure it still meets their needs.
Generally, an estate plan should be reviewed after any major life event, such as birth, marriage, divorce, or death. However,
I generally advise that, at a minimum, clients re-visit their plans every three to five years to ensure the plan still meets their
objectives and priorities. In light of the recent tax reform, it is even more likely that your estate plan needs an update to
accurately reflect your goals and wishes.
When should you review an existing plan?
In addition to regularly scheduled reviews, it’s a good idea to re-examine and update your estate plan if any of the following
circumstances have changed since you last reviewed your plan:
• Personal, Financial, or Charitable objectives.
• Family Dynamics, for example: birth or adoption of a child or grandchild, minors becoming adults, changes in marital
status, or death of a beneficiary.
• Death or change in circumstances of executors or guardians for minor children.
• Health and life expectancy of you or a close family member including: illness or
disability of a spouse or child, change in number of dependents, or changes to life
insurance policies, such as coverage is no longer sufficient for family protection
and estate liquidity needs.
• Financial needs during your lifetime. This could include changes in life or long-
term care insurance policies, such as coverage and benefits are no longer
sufficient to protect you, your family, and your assets. This could also include
the untimely closing of a business or early retirement.
• Relocation to another state or accumulation of property in another state.
• Current and/or projected value of your estate. Meaning substantive changes
to wealth, income, investments, or business interests, significant increase in
borrowing or other financial liabilities, changes in the types of property owned
or type of ownership.
• Marginal income tax bracket.
• Federal or state tax laws.
If you’ve recently experienced a change in any of these areas, it is time to review
your estate plan. A good estate plan should reflect your current financial situation
and plan for your future needs while remaining flexible enough to accommodate
future changes in your personal circumstances, as well as future changes to tax laws
and policies. Many estate plans no longer meet their original objectives because of
changes to family, financial circumstances, or the tax code; thus, regular review of
your estate plan is key to successful planning.
Estate planning is
complicated, if you have
questions or suspect your
estate plan needs review,
follow up with your wealth
advisory team to ensure your
estate plan is up to date and
reasonably meets your estate
planning objectives and
priorities.
