"ARIGATO" Host Town For Supporting Reconstruction

“ARIGATO” Host Town for Supporting Reconstruction is a government project where towns in three disaster-stricken prefectures in the Tohoku area will host the teams of various countries and regions during the Tokyo Games. Through hosting, each town will express their thanks to those who supported reconstruction efforts.

Secretariat of the Headquarters for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Cabinet Secretariat, Japan) established the project in September 2017. As of October 1 2019, 29 municipalities in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures have been registered as “ARIGATO” Host Towns.
