Our Cover Art was selected out of many great pieces entered into the 2010 international juried cover art contest. After much deliberation we chose this piece because it exemplified what we were looking for - something memorable, beautiful and unique. All we knew about the artist when we awarded her first place was that we loved her work, but we soon found out she is still in High School!

About Catalina Ouyang:

Catalina Ouyang was born in 1993 in Chicago and is currently a senior at Parsippany Hills High School in New Jersey. Her recent work draws upon the experience of growing up as an Asian-American in a predominantly white suburb ofChicago, addressing not only racial disparity, but also the broader concepts of aloneness and displacement. Since 2008,Catalina has won awards and exhibited in a number of local art shows in Morristown's Atrium Gallery, the ParsippanyPublic library, and the County College of Morris. Her work has also been sold in local art auctions and can be found in private collections throughout New Jersey.
