ust 2012 Teams Commissioned for Christ Interna
Its another end to another spectacular summer!!!!
We really had a great last few months, as so many
teams from the U.S. came down, sacrificed theirmoney and vacation time, and ministered to many
thousands of people.
All throughout Guatemala and El Salvador wehave continued to build relationships, minister to
the lost and hurting, and grow in our faith as God
never ceases to amaze us with his incrediblepower.
This summer has been one of our all-time
favorites as the dynamic of our family and liveshave changed so much this past year. This has
been our first year on the missions field as a
family and we have been continuing to lead moreand more teams as interest grows in this part of the
world and God continues to move in so many lives
all across Central America.
The experiences that we continue to have, the
stories that we get to share, and the impact that
God continues to have in our lives and the lives ofcountless others makes any sacrifice worth every
bit.
Everyday we are so thankful to God for all He hasdone in and around our lives, and everyday we
continue to grow closer and closer to Him.
Thanks so much to those who have been a part of
all that is happening down here and for being apart in our lives. We truly could not do what we
do without your constant support and prayer.
God bless you all.
John 14:27

When we do missions work in teams, we try and do everything in a dynamic, high energ
tmosphere to grab the attention of the people, so that they are more open to hear the
message of Jesus Christ. Just as shown in the pictures, here are some, but not all the
chniques and ministry tools that we use as we try to reach a nation for God:
Music
Dramas
Puppet Shows
Dance and Choreography
Preaching
Testimonies
Games
Ice Breakers
Food
Talent Contests
Beat Boxing
English Classes with Locals
Worship Sessions Sports, Especially Soccer
Clothes and Useable Item Donations
Balloon Animals
Candy/Toys
Sometimes people ask us how the countries are
and what they look like, so here are a few good
shots of some of the places we have visited.

Obviously from all the pictures you can see we wear soccer Jerseys to most of the
vents that we do throughout Central America. Let me give you a couple of facts before
ll you why:
irst, Latin Americans are INSANELY FANATICAL about soccer. For many, there exis
o greater joy in life.
econd, in Guatemala and El Salvador, and probably in most parts of Central America,
here is an obsession and rivalry between the two most popular teams from Spain:
eal Madrid and Barcelona.
hird, Lionel Messi, who plays for Barcelona, is undeniably the very best soccer player he world right now, arguably ever.
Heres why we wear soccer jerseys from Barcelona and Real Madrid pretty much
verywhere we go When we step out into the streets or into schools, you have about
minutes to win the crowd before they decide whether or not they want to listen to you.
When we walk out there before everything even starts and say: I BROUGHT MY
AVORITE TEAM WITH ME TODAY, AND I WANT TO KNOW HOW MANY OF
OU OUT THERE THINK THE SAME WAY!!!
Off comes the dress shirt revealing the soccer jersey underneath, and every time,
ithout fail, half of the people scream their heads off like they just won a million dollar
hen, another one our team members comes out with the opposing jersey on, and the oth
alf of the crowd scream their heads off like they won a million dollars.
YOU JUST WON THE CROWD!!! NOW TALK ABOUT JESUS!!! :)

Not ministry, but a good story that we laugh about still
So, about a month ago the power goes out in our area, so Danielle and I lit some
andles and put them on the coffee table. We then sat down on the couch, and we began
alking for a bit. It was super hot that night, and since the power was out and we couldn
se the fan, we also opened the front door to let as much cool air in as possible. This nig
as storming hard, and the rain was coming down, so we could hear the storm hammeri
ur roof.
We were sitting on the couch for about half an hour when the storm finally let up,
l the sudden we hear a small thud. We looked at each other, and we were like, what t
eck was that? About 10 seconds later we heard it again. Thud. But this time it wa
etting louder. Finally, we heard it one last time, and I turned around just as a flash of
ghtning lit up our house, and I saw the silhouette of something stuck to the fridge. I sa
babe, theres something stuck to our fridge. I think its a frog! Danielle was like,
what?!?
All of the sudden, as we were sitting on the couch, the power kicks back on as wel
he lights in our house, and lo and behold, there it is was... a huge, fat, frog stuck to our
idge who had come in to get out of the storm. We had never seen anything like it in ou
rea. He was the coolest frog with suction cup feet, and he was so chill that he let us pic
im up and take him back outside without a fight. Cool little guy.
Anyways, we still talk about that all the time how cool it was to have had that happ
nd wed thought wed put the story in here.

A New Mom on the Mission FieldBy: Danielle Burwell
This year has been an amazing
year! The second Doug and I
ound out we were going to have a
aby we knew our lives wouldnever be the same in a very good
way. Life on the mission field can
e very hard at times, especially
now with a baby in the picture, but
we pray fervently for Trustin, our
amily, and our ministry, and God
s always there helping us every
tep of the way. Everyday we just
trust in the Lord, hence how we
ame up with the name Trustin.
Our baby boy was born on
May 3, 2012, and he has made our
ives such a joy. Trustins first day
n the mission field was June 7th,
ust 5 weeks old. The transition
was a little tough at first, but he
dapted in no time.
Ive also been reading a ton
f baby books on how to take care
f your baby that now I think I
ould write my own book titledHow to Raise a Missionary Baby
n the Missions Field. :)
It really is very different
aising a child here rather than in
he U.S. First of all, our schedules
re always changing, so the baby
has learned to pretty much sleep
wherever and whenever he can.
Also, he has learned that hes going
o be around so many differentnoises and sounds like roosters
rowing, dogs barking, the local
atholic churches setting off huge
ombs as a tradition, firecrackers
veryday, and sometimes parades
ut in the street with loud marching
ands playing their hearts out!
There are so many things they
earn to block out. I think its
mazing how well hes doing. Ihave managed to get him on a great
schedule though, that does change from time to time, but aside from
everything going on, he is an awesome baby!!!
Its super fun going all over Guatemala and El Salvador wit
him too. Its truly an adventure, and I love being able to bring him
different events we do. Its so rewarding knowing our son is being
raised with so much ministry and love for God all around him. Th
people of these countries love him so much as well. All the local
women always want to hold and love on him everywhere we go!!!
These women show me and encourage me everyday that I have so
much to be thankful for and that being a mom is one of the greatesgifts God can give.
As for me, it has been a big transition as well. I love being
mom and know that God has given me this amazing gift to take ca
of and love for a very long time. He has entrusted me and Doug w
this precious life, so we know he has big plans for us as a family in
El Salvador. And even though it is difficult at times being a woma
and a mom away from family and friends, I know that I have their
prayers and support everyday and that always brings me great
comfort.
My final thought is this. Even though we could choose any
life we want, including one of greater ease and comfort, with famil
and friends, culture and home, we choose the life that God has for
and to be living in His will always. We know in our hearts that if
we were anywhere else besides where God has us, wed not be
nearly as blessed as we are right now growing as a family in Gods
perfect will for our lives.
Thank you all so much for you prayers and faithful support.
We love and miss you all so much.
God bless you all,
Danielle

Well everyone,
Its been another amazing summer that we wont forget! Go
has been moving and moving in the lives of so many, and we are
truly grateful for all he has done.
Personally, this year has been so incredibly blessed even
though challenging at times. We have seen God touch our lives i
a special way, strengthen us in times of need, and hold us close
when we needed him the most. We are so thankful to see the
ministry expanding, our family growing, and getting to be a par
of what God is doing in Central America.
As the summer comes to a close and all the teams are home
and we go back to a normal routine and pace of life, we always
try and reflect back and remember all that has happened: all th
oys, triumphs, people we met who blessed our lives, friends we
made and said goodbye to, and all the incredible blessings we goto be a part of that we wouldnt have if we had not chosen this
ife. God truly knows so much more about ourselves than we
could ever hope to learn in a hundred lifetimes.
Thank you Lord God for all you do in my life, in my familys
ife, and in the lives of so many others around us everyday. Thanks again to all of you who do so much to help us and
have been there for us. We truly could not do what we do
without you all.
Much love and many blessings,
Doug and Danielle and Trustin Burwell
