HeadteacherHeadteacher A child who is enrolled at a school in England is expected to attend school every day. This is 190 days of the year. For a child to have the opportunity to reach the expected standard of education for their age the school expects a child to attend school for 100% of this time -– unless they are medically unwell. Please look at your child’s attendance. How many days and how many lessons has your child missed out on learning if they have been absent?

A school in England cannot be assessed as a good school if their pupil’s attendance is less than 96%. Many parents understand this and value the importance of their child’s education. Every day missed from school cannot be made up or recovered. Please send your child to school every day. Good habits start from nursery and must continue throughout the school. Please support your child to develop a good habit of attending school to help them become the best learner that they can be. Your child only has one chance in life to attend primary school!
Attendance percentage of the school from January 5th to 29th January 2016 is : Please make sure you have read the term dates for spring correctly. The school is closed for Good Friday on 25th March and Easter Monday 28th March. Children are expected to return to school and then the school will close for the spring holiday from the 4th April to the 15th April 2016.

MMaatitilldda a tthhe e MMuussiiccaall Miss Chambers would like to thank the children who won the Matilda competition for their fantastic persuasive letters and furthermore for their behaviour on the trip on Wednesday. They represented Bell Lane exceptionally well. We had a fantastic time at the theatre!
Golfing LessonsGolfing Lessons Year 6 have been lucky enough to have some special golfing lessons. We had to try and get the balls through different holes, using as much control as possible. Also, we had to hit the ball and try and get it on the bulls eye.

Banned SmartwatchesBanned Smartwatches We are very keen that all children should wear a watch in school. These can be analogue or digital watches. However ‘smart’ watches which contain a camera are completely unacceptable in school. The taking of photographs in school is covered by our safeguarding procedures and the risk of photos being taken of people who have not given consent is not acceptable during the school day. Please ensure they are not brought into school.
