Karrens or lapies are areas of very rugged terrain, full of grooves and channels, generally with sharp edges.

Torcas are enormous cavities with very vertical walls, which are formed when the inside of the mass is so hollowed-out that the surface (the roof of the cavities) collapses.

Ravines or canyons are deep channels with vertical walls.
Ravines are shaped in a curve and canyons are straighter.

The systems of cavities of a karst mass are composed of horizontal tunnels (galleries) and vertical shafts (potholes) or the large cavities that are formed when the systems of potholes and galleries widen and join together (caverns).
