Tooth Movement that the Carriere Distalizer Appliance Fosters

The Carriere Distalizer Appliance is designed to cultivate cuspid and buccal segment distalization that precludes such undesired side

eects (Figure 2a-d) as well as oer technique simplicity and ease o delivery. It is based on the innovative biomechanical concept o 

“ree but controlled” tooth positioning.

The primary biomechanical objectives or the Carriere Distalizer Appliance are to:

• Provide controlled rotational movement o the maxillary

frst molar around its palatal root.

• Upright the maxillary frst molar.

• Create a uniorm biomimetic orce to obtain

univectorial dental displacement.

• Distalize the maxillary posterior segment (cuspid to molar)

as a unit while controlling or unwanted torquing and tipping.

• Require only a light orce to be activated yet be completely

passive when traction is not being employed.

• Respect periodontal structures.

• Establish a Class I Platorm rom which the clinician can fnishthe case simply and efciently using the fnishing appliance o choice.
