The Yangtze, Hwai and Hwang rivers overflowed

Many villages were completely wiped out

The capital at that time, became an island surrounded by over 100,000 square kilometres of water, this is more area than all of Portugal

The cyclone season usually brings 2 storms but in 1931 there were 10.

The water depth was round about 16 meters high.
