MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGNALL BLACKS INVESTMENT STORYBOARDS

A piece of film, for use primarily online

15-second version for broadcast

20 - 30-second version for use online: video tag, banner comm’s, pre-roll for associated content

Well before the shoot date, we will create a dummy animatic with an actor and child delivering the script/action

This will be played to our four All Blacks on arrival at set. It will be their guide towards delivering their respective parts i.e. interaction with child, sight lines, angles to camera, script delivery etc. This should limber them up and alleviate nerves/uncertainty before filming commences

We open on a screen split into four parts. In each quarter there is an All Black and a child. For the first few seconds we watch the interaction between them all, then one of the All Blacks looks directly at the camera and says:

“Three out of every four kids…”

As he says that, a couple of the others notice that he is speaking and look across at his ‘square’. One of them gently hushes his child.

The fourth All Black and child continue to interact with each other, until the second speaks. Then they stop and join the message.

The second All Black looks to camera and adds:

“…will never suffer…”

This continues with each of the All Blacks in the different squares.

“… from a mental illness”

“That’s one too many who does”

“Match fit minds…”

“…are just as important…”

“…as match fit bodies”

“We’re backing Cure Kids…”

“...to help find cures…”

“...for the one in four kids…”

As they say their bit, the squares animate. Sometimes they change their order; sometimes the one speaking fills the full screen, and then returns to top left as another takes over.

Throughout the piece the children just sit, look around, look at ‘their’ All Black…until it’s time for the punchline to be delivered when the child that presumably needs help speaks up:

“…who needs it”

Message concludes with appropriate graphics.

We open on a screen split into four parts. In each quarter there is an All Black and a child. For the first few seconds the screen stays in the four parts. Then the squares begin to change places, and the people in each square start to interact with the people in the other squares.

As a male voiceover speaks, the animation in the squares reflects his story:

“Three out of every four kids will never suffer from a mental illness”

The second All Black looks to camera and adds:

“That’s one too many who does”

“Match fit minds are just as important as match fit bodies”

“The All Blacks are backing Cure Kids to help find cures for the one in four kids who needs it”

The final frame suddenly sees all four ABs and all four kids jostling in one square. One of the ABs looks to camera and asks:

“Can you help us?”

Message concludes with appropriate graphics.

Shoot date: Week commencing January 20, 2014
