The central principle behind the success of the giants born in the Web 1.0 era who have survived to lead the Web 2.0 era appears to be this, that they have

embraced the power of the web to harness collective intelligence.

- business to go one step further (receiving emails everywhere in the world – BlackBerry etc.)

- allow people to connect more freely through the use of networking sites

- Exchange of thoughts and information

Allows “mediamaking” due to the expansive use of the internet and such blog sites as myspace which

sees a blog every second being made.

Advantages of collective intelligence:- quick information exchange- communities develop easier

- businesses develop faster

- speculations about WEB 3.0- is it going to happen or is it just a marketing

strategy?
