The process utilizes counter-rotating rolls to densify materials withthe application of pressure. Material is transported into the nip areabetween the rolls by a single or intermeshing multiple screwfeeder.Compression is achieved as the volume of material entering the nipareaissqueezedthroughtherolls.Thisuniquefeedingsystemprovidesimprovedcompressionovercompetition.
