Attitudes Skills Knowledge

A – AttitudeAttitude is defined as “a way of looking at life; a way of thinking, feeling or behaving.” Therefore, an attitude is not just the way we think, but the way we think, feel and do.

S – SkillSkill is defined as the ability to do something well; proficiency, facility, or dexterity that is acquired or developed through training or experience.

K – KnowledgeKnowledge is defined as information in mind; general awareness or possession of information, facts, ideas, truths, or principles gained through experience or study.

•Motivate and support staff in mathematics/science teaching.

•Professional Leadership•On-going study of teaching and learning.•Helping staff grow as professionals and growing professionally.

•Administrative Leadership•Be an advocate.•Provide the tools, climate, and funds needed for instruction.

1) Charts with Leadership Roles (2 sets) are in this room and the reception space outside this room.

2) Start with the chart that has the same number and letter as are on the back of your nametag.

3) With your group, brainstorm roles that teacher leaders can assume that fit that category.

4) On cue from the facilitator, move to the next chart – review the list and add additional ideas.

5) When you return to the chart you started with, identify the best three roles that fit that category. Be prepared to share these with the whole group.
