Adjacent spaces
OVERVIEW OF ADJACENT SPACE GAMES These games take place in a 2d space.
They consist of multiple rooms. The2D space uses aspects such as
doors and hedges these allow the player to go between spaces, giving the illusion of a much larger game world, set in several ‘rooms’.
GAMES THAT USE THIS SPACE:
ASPECTS OF OUR GAME We are going to include stealth elements like the
games shown above do. The game space will consist of 4 rooms 3 rooms and 1 garden (room’s black and garden green).
MECHANICS OF THE GAME The characters will be seen from a birds
eye view. The mouse must move from room to
room collecting the cheese avoiding the cat.
When the cat touches the mouse the mouse dies.
In each room it will be a “maze” household items will make up the maze e.g. a cupboard, bed or TV stand.
MECHANICS CONTINUED The cat will be able to move faster than
the mouse. The cat will be less agile than the mouse, it will need to stop turn and then move (like a tank!). Cat moves independently of mouse on a set route.
There will be four pieces of cheese in each room and 1 piece of secret cheese per room, the player must collect all pieces of cheese to advance to the next level.
MECHANICS CONTINUED If the cat manages to catch the mouse,
the mouse dies and re-spawns at the start cheese less! The player then starts the game again.
