A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

A Common Destiny for All

So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one

knows whether love or hate awaits them.

• PSALMS 139:2

“You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.”

• Example: When Jesus said to Peter that he will deny Him 3 times (Luke 22: 31-34)

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith

may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.” Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before

the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”

Sin, Confession and Redemption

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt.

Your lips have spoken falsely, and your tongue mutters wicked things.

• JEREMIAH 15:19

Therefore this is what the LORD says:“If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if

you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman.

Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.
