Preparation

Pump Leak Test Insert unopened tube into the socketSqueeze pump completely and releasePump is adequately leak-proof if the

end-of-stroke volume indicator has not appeared after 15 minutes

Remove tube from socketPress button to reset counter to zero

Preparing the TubeSelect tube for the measurement

required.Follow instructions for use (tube). Insert tip in opening on the lower pump

plate; keep it pressed against the ceramic edge while turning it, so that the glass is scored.

Making a MeasurementCheck number of strokes required for the

tube.Put forefinger and ringfinger in the middle of

the lower pump plate and squeeze completely.

Release pump.Evaluate the result.Remove used tube from socket.Flush pump.

(Simple Asphyxiants)

Acute EffectsRapid loss of consciousnessComaAnoxic brain injury

Chronic EffectsResidual anoxic injury

Exposure LimitsAtmospheric oxygen should > 18% at

normal barometric pressure

General ConsiderationsAsphyxiants gases are those inhalants

that act predominantly by oxygen deprivation.

This may occur by simply displacing oxygen from inspired air.
