The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli ... One night Eli … was lying down … and

Samuel was lying down … Then the Lord called Samuel.

Samuel answered, ‘Here I am.’ And he ran to Eli and said, ‘Here I am; you called me.’ But Eli said,

‘I did not call; go back and lie down.’

• doesn’t depend on age or status

• develops our relationship with Him – 1 Sam 3:7

• being available to act on His Word - 1 Sam 3:10

The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and He let none of his words fall to the ground. And all

Israel … recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the LORD. The LORD continued to

appear at Shiloh, and there He revealed himself to Samuel through His word

many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken

to us by His Son …
