Department of Civil Engineering in collaboration with Nuvoco Vista Corp. Ltd. organized onlinewebinar on the topic of Advance Concrete Products for the students of BE Sem. 4, 6 and 8, on 02May, 2020. The webinar was delivered by Mr Sumit Gupta, Deputy Manager - Marketing Services,and Mr. Raghunath Patil, State Technical Head, from Nuvoco Vista Corp. Ltd. Experts discussedvarious advance products of ready mix concrete such as Low Density Thermal InsulativeConcrete, Microne – Wet Micro Concrete, Bag Concrete, Self Compacting Concrete etc. with theirreal world use and case studies.
Webinar on Final Year Project – First Step in Journey towards Entrepreneurship
Department of Electrical Engineering organized a webinar,on the topic of Final Year Project – First Step in Journeytowards Enterprenuriship, for students of BE Sem. 6 and 8 atthe Department, on 03 May, 2020. Invited expert was Mr.Vikas Loh, owner Relexo Technologies. During the sessionthe expert explained importance of final year project andhow final year project can be used for creating platform forthose interested in enterprenuriship. He also explainedvarious steps for converting project ideas into marketableproducts. Mr. Vikas is also the alumni of the Department.
Webinar on Career Path in IT post Covid-19
Department of Computer Engineering organized an experttalk in form of webinar, on the topic of Career Path in IT postCovid-19, for the students of BE Sem. 4 and 6 at theDepartment, on 25 May, 2020. Invited expert was Mr. RutvikAhya, Sr. System Engineer, Siemens, Bangalore. During thewebinar the expert explained about various career pathsbased on technology and platform. He also guided students onhow to decide one’s interest, concept of learning curve,market stability on hyped/bubbled technology, etc. Mr. Rutvikis also the alumni of the Deparmtnet.

Webinar on Ionic - Cross-Platform Mobile App Development
Department of Computer Engineering organizedan expert talk in form of webinar, on the topic ofIonic - Cross-Platform Mobile App Development,for the students of BE Sem. 4 and 6 at theDepartment, on 31 May, 2020. Invited expert wasMr. Kishan Oza, Micro Front End Architect, CoditasLLP, Pune. During the webinar the expertexplained basics of Ionic, reason for its use andbuilding blocks in the Ionic framework. He alsogave a live demo to explain working of Ionic. Mr.Kishan is also the alumni of the Deparment.
Webinar on Blockchain Bootcamp
Department of Computer Engineering - Diplomastudies arrange a webinar on Blockchain Bootcampfor their students of DE Sem 4 and 6 on 15 May,2020. The webinar was delivered by Mr.Dharamveersinh Jadeja, Senior BlockchainDeveloper at PruthaTek. During the talk he coveredintroduction to Blockchain and underlyingtechnology and issues. Mr. Dharmveershinh is alsothe alumni of the Department.
After the launch and success of GTU MCQ app, with 50000+ downloads from Google play storeand iOS app store, the Institute, worked towards extending this facility also in form of a website.Ms. Divya J. Sonara (180543107029), a final year student in Department of ComputerEngineering, under the guidance of Dr. P. U. Jadeja, Associate Professor at the Department,developed a GTU MCQ Website (http://gtu-mcq.com/) rendering similar faciltiies. After thelaunch of the website, in a span of less than one month, it received more than 1.75 Lakh views.This website is free of cost for the community to use. Its responsive design enables user to use itfrom mobile also.
It is worth to know that the mobile application as well as the website has been designed as perthe syllabus of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and covers four core branches namelyCivil, Mechanical, Electrical and Computers. The app in its current state has more than 15,800+questions covering all subjects of BE Sem. 2, 4 and 6. They also have MCQs for DE Sem. 4 witharound 7,000+ questions. For Diploma, MCQ’s are made available also in Gujarati. The questionsare given topic wise as per the outline of the syllabus.

Created YouTube Channel on Coding
Krishna Adhia (176620307001), student of DE Sem. 6 Department of Comptuer Engineering,started a YouTube channel with the name of Write My Code. The channel posts coding tutorialand videos so that anyone, with the basic or intermediate level of knowledge, can learn andimprove coding skills in PHP, JavaScript and more. She releases a new video every weekexplaining various coding concept in-depth and in simple way for learner to easily understand.Ms. Krishna set a very good example of effectively using one’s skills and share knowledge duringthe lockdown period of COVID-19.
