IDENTITY OF THE DEAF

EUROPEANUNIONOFTHEDEAFYOUTH(EUDY)

The European Union of the Deaf Youth is a European non-profit organisation whosemembershipcomprisesoftheYouthNationalAssociationsoftheDeafandYouthSectionsofNational Associations of Deaf people in Europe. Established in 1987, EUDY is the onlyorganisationrepresentingtheinterestsofDeafYoungEuropeansinEurope.Currently,EUDYhas28Fullmembers,fromIcelandtoRomania,andfromSpaintoFinland.EUDYstrivestofosterthepersonaldevelopmentofyoungdeafpersonswithasignlanguageinEuropeandtofurthermutualunderstandingtoadvanceandprotecttherightsofandopportunitiesforyoungdeafEuropeans.

SACDY is engaged in various activities of deaf children and young people, developingeducation, support anddealswith thedeaf community, deaf solves theproblems in theirlivesandremovescommunicationbarriers.Partoftheworkisalsoorganizinglecturesinthefield of deaf community – World Youth, and also participates in various internationalactivitiesofdeafpeopleathomeandabroad.Themainobjectiveofourorganization is tomaintaina cultureofdeaf educationand raising the levelofordinarypeople.Represents,protectstherightsandinterestsofdeafyouthinSlovakia.

PARTICIPANTSParticipantsmustbebetween13and17yearsold,followingthebirthyear.Thismeansa13-year-oldpersonmayparticipateintheJuniorCampiftheyareturning12intheyearofthecamp.Apersonwhowill be turning18 yearsoldduring the yearof the campwill notbeallowedtoparticipate.

TheEUDYJuniorCamp2018willtakeplacefrom21-29July2018atTesáre,Slovakia.Ourextensiverecreationalcomplexislocatedinthesouth-easternpartofPovažskýInovecnearthe vineyards of the village Tesáre. The building is surrounded by greenery of floodplainforestsandtheriverChotina,whichflowsintotheTesárskawaterdamknownforitsuniquemineralspringVajcovka.Waterfromthisstrandhelpsindigestionanddigestivedifficultiesandhasacomparablequalitytothewell-knownPiešťanysprings.

TesáreRecreationCenteris17kmfromTopoľčian,7kmfromtheDuchonkarecreationarea,2kmfromthevillageTesáreand120kmfromBratislavaAirport. Its3hectaresareamongthe largest resorts in Slovakia. Ideal location and equipment is suitable for sports events,natureschools,children'ssummercampsaswellasshort-termfamilystays.
