Timeline began 1962 with “snurfer” late 1970s, established sport.

Timeline 1981, championship “ slalom” competition.

Slalom wavy course marked with flags.

In 2002, official Olympic Game.

Early Snowboards Sherman Poppen invented the “snurfer”.

After the original “snurfer” it became the snowboard.

Jack Burton was a carpenter who installed rubber straps on the “snurfer”.

materials for snowboards.

Stopping

put your arms out for balance. straighten your legs then put out your back.

Falling

tuck in your elbows and hands.

crouch down to get close to your butt and the ground.

Round your back and lay down.

Getting up sit up.

roll over so you are facing the ground.

get onto your knees.

stand up and ride again.

Moving around push with your foot.

just glide with the board.
