Fernley Moose Lodge 2468 & Chapter 2150
Thanks to so many of our members, all
of our fund raisers for Convention Expenses
have been hugely successful. We finished the
month with the giant yard sale and it was
unbelievable the amount of stuff that was
donated. Even though the 2nd day was rained
out, Friday’s sales were so phenomenal that we
exceeded the 2 day expectations in one day! I
won’t try to name everyone, but it wouldn’t have
worked without all of you who donated items, actually helped with the sale,
or bought a lot of stuff (some of you did all three!).
I do want to single out one individual for special recognition. He’s
not yet quite old enough to become a Moose member, but James Haas has
been so helpful to all of us. He constantly volunteers to help with anything
we’ve got going and his energy and enthusiasm is great to see. So, here’s one
“ATTABOY” for James. He’s going to be a great member of our fraternity
one day soon.
The 12th of this month will be the 18th birthday for Fernley Moose
Lodge #2468. Not many of us have been here since the beginning, but we’re
all grateful to everyone who has been involved over all those years. Our
actual birthday celebration will be on Saturday, the 18th. All the plans for
the party are not yet finalized, but plan on joining us for food, fun &
festivities. The Blue & Gold will be providing the cake.
Also, don’t overlook our Halloween party on Friday the 31st. It will
be a costume party for all those who choose to participate, but everyone is
encouraged to join the party—with or without a costume. Prizes will be
awarded in several categories, so be creative.
We try to have many activities and good food for our members so
that we have plenty of opportunities for fun & fellowship. However, we
should never lose sight of our mission as a charitable fraternity dedicated to
helping our children, our seniors and our neighbors who are in need. I ask
each of you to remember the words of the obligation we all spoke when we
joined the LOOM or the WOTM. If you see or become aware of a need
where we might be able to help, please share it with us. Working together,
we can accomplish great things.
I look forward to seeing you around the lodge,
Larry

W. O. T. M CHAPTER #2150
Hi Everyone, We had a busy September. Thanks to everyone that
brought a dish for the potluck. What a great variety of food. The ham
dinner was great and enjoyed by all. Thanks to Stacy and her crews for
both events. Also thanks to Tamera for putting on a Swedish meatball
dinner the Saturday evening of the garage sale. It’s great to see new faces
helping us out. It’s also great to see new meal ideas on the menu.
I learned a lot and had a great time at the Convention in Reno. Bobbie
and Marian are a blast to hang around with. I also saw Beth so Fernley
had four of us there. It would be great if more women would show up.
October plans to be really busy. The 4th will feature Doris cooking. Then
on the 11th Missie and Stacy will have a fund raising dinner for Haylie.
Christmas in October will be on the 25th. Finally we are having the Hal-
loween party for the children on November 1st. We have lots of fun thing
to do, so please come out and have some fun with us.
Leanne Idsinga
Hi!
Well to begin, Stacy and myself will be holding our fundraiser for
“Hands off to Haylie” on October 11th with a spaghetti dinner,
50/50, and a raffle with some great prizes. Dinner will start at
5:00 P. M.
Please mark this on your calendar to attend this wonderful cause
for a wonderful little girl.
We look forward to seeing many of you here. Above all, please
keep Haylie in your prayers. I believe in miracles.
Thank you,
Missie

Yep it’s Fall,
This summer has been hot but I think we have
made great strides getting BACK TO BASICS . We
still need to get out and talk to all our members that
we have not seen in a long time, tell them they are missed and see if there
is something we can do to get them back. Remember, sponsoring a new
member is just the beginning of our obligation and keep them interested
and informed of the upcoming activities when you talk to them just in case
they misplaced their calendar.
I want to get back to August 30th to thank all of you for the support for
our fund raiser and give a special THANK YOU TO ALL Who Helped in
the kitchen and getting the food served. We could not have done this with-
out this great team . September was just as challenging but again you all
came through and our Fundraisers were a success. Thanks goes out to all
again. We can’t do these things without team work together so let’s make
our team even BIGGER by getting BACK TO BASICS.
We are Celebrating Our 18th Birthday this year on the 12th with the
Lodge Birthday Party on the 18th. Hope. to see us having standing room
only . This is a great time to bring a friend and introduce them and make
them a potential member.
On Sundays We have a great Breakfast Sunday the 19th is the District
Meeting in Fernley with Breakfast served by the Moose Legion. Norm
will be putting food on the table Monday evenings along with the King of
Clubs . Speaking of that, congratulations to that guy we Call Jack for
Drawing the King and taking it home. Don’t worry though there will be
another game to play.
The LOOM Officers Meet on the 14th at 6PM with the General to follow
at 6:30PM. Just thought I would mention the general meeting is for all the
LOOM members. Joint Officers meeting on the 21st at 6pm.
The WOTM audit is on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30pm.The
Chapter meetings 9th and 23rd with officers following the meeting on the
9th .
There will be different varieties of food on Fridays ,the LOOM will have
Hor D’oeuvres on the 31st . The Kids Halloween Party will be on the 1st of
November from 1:00 –3:00 pm.

Well it’s that time of year
again! The donation barrels are now in the lodge. As
usual we are asking for your donations to help our
community. I am hoping that all of you are as giving
as you were last the last few years. Remember, all
your donations stay in our community for our own
residents. Any help you can give will be greatly ap-
preciated. Remember that as a moose, you took an
oath to do some good thing for someone each day. So
“HERE’S YOUR CHANCE”
I am still looking for people to speak up when
they have done something for the community. I know
we just had the Relay for Life and that some mem-
bers donated money, but did anyone participate or
help out? I sure would like to know.
Respectfully and fraternally
Joe Rigazio
