Last day of
School!
Diary
Welcome to Week 8 of Term 4.
Last day of school is Friday the 16th December! First day back is Monday the 30th January 2017.
I have a few more teachers to talk to and then we will be in a position to name our classroom teach-
ers for 2017. The smaller classes seem to be very highly valued by our whole school community, so
this initiative will continue into 2017. Our kids are learning fast and our school culture is certainly
something that we can be very proud of.
Sonja Stone did an amazing job in Sydney for the State Debating Titles. She was third speaker for the
North Coast Team and they ended up runner up Champion over the 3 days. Well done Sonja. We
are all very very proud of you!
Our first set of work experience kids have come and gone, and a new set arrived this week. The
NHHS students were a credit to their school and their families. They were willing to get in and have
a go at supporting our students and trying new things. Hopefully they have gone away with clear
goals in their mind as to what they want to achieve in their futures. Well done to Team One. You
were awesome!
Our classes all discussed “Stranger Danger” last week as we head towards the holidays. Please be
sure to touch on this subject with your child or children at home.
All of our Year 5 students who will be here next year have now completed their Captain’s Speech.
Congratulations Yr 5. I am extremely proud of you. Over the past 4 years we have increased our
speech participation rate from 30% to 100%. I was extremely proud of our Year 5. Well done to eve-
ryone. Please remind your child that a badge does not make a leader. The position is one of prestige
and honour, but we will need all of our Year 6 in 2017 to be role models and leaders. I am excited
for next year already. Captains and prefects will be announced at Presentation Day on Wednesday,
December the 14th at 9:30am.
Stage 3 will be meeting with the high school on Tuesday morning to complete the last stage of our
transition support. Students will be heading down to the high school for a full day on Thursday.
Please ensure your child is in full, FPVCPS school uniform for this day.
Friday, is our last Kickstart for 2016. It has been great to see so many new faces attending our Kindi
transition sessions. Ms Edwards has had a great time with the little ones and is looking forward to
getting them into Kindergarten in 2017. I have been working closely with our executive to set up our
second class for next year and as a result Miss Scott will be joining the Kickstart team on the day as
it is likely she will be our second Kindergarten teacher in 2017.
Finally we are holding our Family Fun Night this Friday! Please make the time to come along and
join us for a night of food and entertainment. Food and drinks will be on sale from 5:30 and the en-
tertainment will start at 6:00. ALL stages will be presenting an item. Hope to see you there.
Have a great week.
Todd.

VALLA BEACH COMMUNITY Carols FRIDAY, 9TH DECEMBER 6.00-9.00 pm
VALLA BEACH RESERVE (Lions’ Park)
The Valla Beach Community Association invites you to come along and embrace the Christmas spirit by joining with your family, neighbours and the
wider community in community carol singing. This event will take place from 6.00 to 9.00 pm on Friday, 9th December at the Valla Beach Reserve (Lions’
Park). We encourage you and your family and friends to come along at 6.00 pm with your picnic blanket and/or folding chairs and a picnic tea or you can pur-
chase hot food and ice-cream from the various food vendors who will be in attendance.
Carols will commence at 7.00pm. You will be invited to join in a time of community carol singing as well as enjoying some light entertainment. The carols will
be led by volunteers from the Bowraville Theatre Singers and the Nambucca Valley Brass Band. Santa will make an appearance and the evening will culminate
with a display of fireworks!
Glo-Candles and Glo-Sticks will be available for purchase at the event and song sheets will be provided.
Make this a date in your diary to get you off to a good start for a great Christmas season.
