CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
As warmer weather slowly approaches in Northeast Montana, I begin to turn my
thoughts towards warmer weather and longer days. This transition period from
winter to summer ALWAYS seems to lifts the spirits! The grass begins to turn green,
flowers start blooming and buds bring leaves back to the trees. Similarly, the
Glasgow Chamber is also entering a new season of renewal and growth.
Longest Dam Race: Bring the family out to Ft Peck on June 18th and compete in
the Longest Dam Race. Register to walk, run or bike through the beauty of Ft.
Peck, Montana. Online registration is now available!
MT Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament: Ft. Peck Lake is the place to be July
7-9th as the Chamber hosts the 29th Annual Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye
Tournament with Joe Herbold as the emcee. The Guys & Gals contest will be held
on Thursday July 7th, the Gov Cup Tourney will begin on July 8-9, with a Kids Fishing
tournament on Saturday, July 9th. A Community Fish Fry will take place on Friday
July 8th at Kiwanis Park in Ft Peck. Fish the MT Governor’s Cup Tournament with an
entry fee of $300.00 and an option of a $100.00 of day money. Plus, the
tournament is 100% payback!
NEMT Fair Concert: The fair concert will be returning to the Northeast Montana Fair
(NEMF) this summer. Recording artists Emerson Drive and J.T. Hodges are set to
take the stage Friday, July 29th. After a multi-year hiatus, the Glasgow Area
Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, Milk River Motor Sports, KLTZ/Mix-93,
Glasgow Rodeo Committee and the Glasgow Tourism Business Improvement
District have partnered with the NEMF Board to make it possible.
Tickets are on sale now for $45– General admission and $65– Arena admission. Tick-
ets are available at the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, KLTZ/KLAN, the Cotton-
wood Inn and Suites & ticketleap.com.
Explore Glasgow and Valley County during the summer of 2016. I encourage you
to step out into the vast landscapes and rich history here in Valley County. Renew
your love for the prairie, discover a new treasure in a Glasgow merchant and
grow your knowledge about your city, and the cultures that lie within. Embrace
the renewal and growth season with the Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce &
Agriculture, Inc. and get involved in your community. Enjoy the spring weather
and the promise of a great summer season!
