Celebrate Spring- Easter-- or Bunnies!! EASY, fun, creative!

Choice of Group Project

One of the activities seniors enjoy is crafting!

We chose a spring craft since the timing of our project was around Easter and the spring season

Cultural sensitivity was considered in calling it a “spring” activity rather than “Easter”

The abilities of the senior group at Sky Peak was taken into account

Clothespin Bunny Project

We found this simple, but cute, project on Pinterest. We considered physical abilities of seniors in our craft selection, as well as cost and the time needed to complete the project.

Preparations for Project

Alexis purchased the larger sized clothespins, paint and googley eyes.

The decision was made to paint the bunnies in advance.

Alexis painted the bunnies the night before.

Gina and Polly shopped and purchased embellishments for the project such as ribbon, glitter, pom poms, beads, acrylic jewels, puff paint, Sharpie pens, craft glue, as well as other materials.

We had a lot of fun exploring the possibilities with this simple project! Later, the seniors did too !

EvaluationSuccess! Some rave reviews!

On Our Evaluations, seniors explained that they enjoyed being around delightful

women.

They enjoyed, being able to express their creativity in a different way.

One senior stated that it was too much fun for the afternoon, ( Maybe she was

exhausted).

Continued Evaluation

It was nicely arranged

They enjoyed being together with their other crafty friends

It was nice seeing the sky peak staff

encourage others to participate

A senior also suggested that

tweezers should have been present to help

with the smaller pieces

They appreciated out patience.

LESSONS LEARNED

Age is not a factor of abilities or memory for this particular group of women

Attempt future socioeconomic preparedness, even as young being of the “boomer” generation

Age had no affect on their ability to understand the craft, but it did affect their ability to structure their bunnies how they wanted too (help was required)
