MBS earned a great reputation through its beat coverage of DC
NBC formed own newsgathering 1933

News embargo broke 1935.
Associated Press agreed to sell its news services to radio again.
News now firmly placed in broadcast schedule.
News averaging 10% of programming by 1930’s.
1938- stations subscribing to more than one news wire. News written just for radio!

However, television’s inception plus the war’s end caused this to begin to taper.
