“Really good initiative. It made the area much safer and created a community space off the sand. It was great at reducing loud/dangerous traffic along the Esplanade”

“Added a lovely vibe, some modern touches promoting Altona Beach in a positive way. Would like to see sectioned off area extended along Pier st to Queen st with outdoor dining area for the established eateries. This would enable food vans to operate along the cordoned off section beachfront”.

“Not really used unless masses of visitors, always empty when I go down. Was going to sit in the seat in those boxes, but much too low for older people, can’t possibly get down or up that low, and there are a lot of older people in Altona. So not catering for everyone. Just think it is a wasted space”.

“Brilliant! Deters hoons. Beach boxes are a great addition, twice we have come and sat in them and love the idea! Love the planter boxes”.

“A waste of rate payers money. No advantage to the community. The public will come to the beach whether there is beach sheds or not. You will be lucky if you find table tennis bats and ball, and if you do, hope that it is not a windy day. Public should be educated to use pedestrian crossings and not close off roads”.

“Really happy with the changes to the parking.Really like the removal of the parking from Queen Street, Bent Street and Sargood Street.Good traffic flows around the diversion. Which is surprising. I was expecting difficulty with the traffic flow but it works well.Use the closed section - bring the grand kids down.Would like to see some bench seats on Weaver Reserve”.
