REALTORS®
Instagram is a social networking app made for
sharing photos and videos from a smartphone.
Similar to Facebook or Twitter, everyone who
creates an Instagram account has a profile and a
news feed.
When you post a photo or video on Instagram, it
will be displayed on your profile. Other users who
follow you will see your posts in their own feed.
Likewise, you'll see posts from other users whom
you choose to follow.

Creating an Instagram Account
Before you can start using the app, Instagram
will ask you to create a free account.
You can sign up via your existing Facebook
account or by email. All you need is a
username and a password.
It's always a good idea to customize your
profile by adding your name, a photo, a short
bio and a website link if you have one when
you first get on Instagram.
When you start following people and looking
for people to follow you back, they'll want to
know who you are and what you're all about.
First you want to link your Instagram account to your
Facebook account.
How to link to your Facebook Page
To link your Instagram account to a Facebook
Page:
Android
1. Go to your profile and tap in the top right.
2. Scroll down and tap Linked Accounts, then select Facebook.
3. If you haven't already, enter your Facebook login information.
4. By default, your Instagram account will link to your personal
Facebook Timeline. To link to a Page instead, tap Facebook again

Before launching a new product, service, or campaign, test it out on loyal customers that
you know will provide honest feedback.
2. Learn About Your Ideal Followers
Gain valuable information about your customers and target audience.
3. Provide Better Customer Service
Effectively respond to the negative review by reaching out to that customer on the
platform they are currently using.
4. Better Networking
Send follow up emails to people you encountered at networking events.
5. Enhance Relationships with Clients
Send individual thank you’s to new clients after their first purchase.
Adding Locations to Instagram
After you upload or take a photo or video and add any effects or
filters you want, you can add your location. To add your location:
1. Tap Add Location
2. Find your location in the suggestions or search for the location
and select it
3. Tap Share
You can also use a public Facebook event as a location. Just like a
location page, you can tap the event name to view all photos and
videos shared publicly at that event or location.
You can also add or edit the location of a photo or video you've
already posted. Adding a custom location is no longer supported.
Tagging & Mentions
You can tag people as you're sharing a photo or to
an existing photo. There isn't a way to tag people in
videos.
To tag people as you're posting a photo:
After you've selected a photo and added effects
and filters, tap Tag People from the Share screen.
Tap on someone in the photo.
Start entering their name or username and select
them from the dropdown menu. If you don't see the
person you're looking for, tap Search for a person.
Adding Mentions
To mention someone, type @ followed
immediately by their username (ex: "great
photo, @shayne!"). Don't include a space
between @ and the username.
When you mention someone, they'll get a
notification in their Activity feed letting them
know.
How Hashtags Work
Hashtags help organize and categorize
photos and video content, which aids the
process of content discovery and
optimization.
For example, a REALTOR® might post a
picture of a SOLD property and use the
following hashtags: #JustSold
#FixandFlip #Hustle
Interactions are highest on Instagram
posts with 11+ hashtags.
Why Use Hashtags?
Instagram hashtags are one of the
best ways to grow your Instagram
account. Using the right hashtag (or
combination of hashtags) can help you
expose your content to large and
targeted audiences.
A hashtag immediately expands the
reach of your post beyond just those
who follow you, to reach anyone
interested in that hashtag phrase or
keyword.

Because you only have 60 seconds to get your
message across through video on Instagram, it
is a curse and a blessing. It is a blessing
because it prevents you from burning bridges by
posting 30 minute videos that no one is
interested in.
On the downside, it is not enough time to say
much. That’s why you have to get your thoughts
together and understand your purpose before
you start shooting a video. Even a self-made
video using your iPhone should be clear and
concise.
Creating Videography
Resist the impulse to clutter up your Instagram page
with videos. Use a short 15 second video tour as a
teaser that sends them to your YouTube Channel.
There is where you can post all of your professional
grade full length videos like:
Creating Videography
Client Testimonials
Video Tours
Behind the Scenes Videos
Webinars
Agent Profiles
