MINCE PIESMINCE PIES

HOW DO WE PREPARE THEM?

INGREDIENTS (for 24 mince pies)● 340 g. of flour

● 170 g. of butter

● 455 g. of mincemeat

● A rolling pin

● Two round cutters:

● One: 2.5 cm. in diameter● The other: 6.25 cm. in

diameter● Two patty tins (each with

twelve moulds)

● Quite a big mixing bowl

● A sharp knife

● A fork

● A teaspoon

UTENSILS

PREPARATION

● First of all put the flour in a bowl.

● Then mix it with the butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.

● Add a little bit of water.

● Roll it out quite thin onto a floured board or table.

PREPARATION

● Cut out 24 round shapes with the large cutter to use as the bases of the mince pies.

● Grease each of the moulds in the patty tins with butter or margarine.

● Then put one of them in each mould and press the pastry down in the middle.

● With a sharp knife make a few tiny holes in each base.

● Then put one teaspoon of mincemeat in each pastry mould.

● Cut out 24 round shapes with the small cutter to use as the tops of the mince pies.

● In each mince pie, cover the mincemeat with one of the pastry tops.

● Then make three or four tiny holes in the tops.

● Put the mince pies in the oven at 190ºC for about 20 minutes.

● After about 20 minutes, when the mince pies are slightly brown, take them out of the oven.

● After a few minutes take them out of the patty tins.

● Serve them with cream and/or brandy butter.
