Why require Advance?

• “Route” a packet by changing its location, then send the paper packet to the next level
• When you receive a paper packet, look it up in Advance– If it’s not on your Overview page, maybe it has
not been routed in Advance (maybe it has not been created in Advance)
• Candidates can see the location of their packet

To get to the Manage Packet page, click on the Candidate Mgmt tab and search, or find the packet on the Overview and click the location.
The Manage Packet pageGet to Manage Packet from the Packet page or from the Overview page. Use Manage Packet to change the packet location.

• When you receive a paper packet, verify that it is in Advance. If not, check with the APA who sent the paper packet and ask that it be entered into Advance.

• Routing within Advance will give us information about– Number of packets done each year– Types of packets done each year– Bottlenecks in the review/approval process
• Do not route a packet that has been approved (covered in the Decision & Status module)
