Objectives and Scope - I
• Project Name : Saudi Mobily WiMAX & LTE Project 5508500
• In order to meet the requirement of Mobily multiple networks deployment, Huawei presents multi-
mode BTS solution which is applicable for WiMAX/TDLTE multi-mode deployment and smooth
evolution from WiMAX to LTE
• Scope :
• 1)Huawei 265 WIMAX sites upgrade, and 150 new sites based on Huawei WIMAX coverage cities.
• 2) 99 new TDL and WIMAX co-sites will be built in the New cities.
• 3) 477 new TDL and WIMAX co-sites will be built in Easten, Madinah and Yanbo area.
• Huawei will introduce a new LTE network with two SAE geographically separated in location
within the same access network using single ran solution which will put up with the exceeding
data demands of end users.

Objectives and Scope - II
• Two new ASN-GW’s will be added to the existing network and will be installed in GOSI–Dammam and Silver-Khobar. Huawei is proposing two possible scenarios for the Target Network Topology. The distribution is done based on geographic location of cities keeping in mind the transmission delay consideration. Both scenarios are as following:

ScenarioScenarioScenarioScenario DescriptionDescriptionDescriptionDescription Advantage Risks Remarks
Scenario 1Install and then dismantle(Temp
frequency available)
This solutions is available . All the Installation and alignment can be done without MDT. It can be roll back
Small risk when MDT
Scenario 2Install and then dismantle(Temp
frequency unavailable)
This solutions is available when there is no Temp frequency. It can be roll back
Alignment time depending on the size of new antenna . Medium risk.
Scenario 3Direct swap then
install new link
This solution is available when there is no space available on the original infrastructure and no space to erect a new structure on the tower.
Link outage vary from case to case, depending on the size of the newly install antenna and path distance. And it can not be roll back. High risk.
Scenario 4 Re-rout
The outage downtime is short in solution. The link only stays down during the cutover. After re-routing, it can release some spaces on the congested infrastructure for future swap.
Need new licensed frequency and LOS risk .

(Replacing existing MW)– 5) Install WiMAX antennas during MDT. (Replacing existing antennas)– 6) Cannot Finish LOS during MDT using the existing frequency or MW Design has been changed due
to capacity planning or have losses in the link. Need Re-Routing.– 7) Finish Re-Routing.– 8) Switch Off existing MW equipment during MDT and Switch On Huawei Equipment.– 9)Test Service.

Rollback PrinciplesWiMAX Rollback criteria:
•Base on number of sites unsuccessfull in SWAP cluster
WiMAX Rollback Actions:•Troubleshooting unsuccessfull sites during MDT•Request support to rollback to samsung.
MW Rollback criteria:• Base on number of sites unsuccessfull in SWAP cluster
MW Rollback Actions:
• Troubleshooting unsuccessfull sites during MDT• Request support from Trx team if required.

Risks Analysis
• WiMAX Risks Involved:– On time support required to dismantle existing equipment and incase of rollback.
• MW Risks Involved:• 1. Some Fiber sites are not confirmed. This will affect the LOS &site survey. This still affect our implement
design.• 2. Swap risk:
– Customer request use the existing link’s frequency. It means we will face 2 scenarios: • Enough space to install. Can roll back but can not forecast how long the downtime it will be .• No space to install: first dismantle existing link, then install new link and alignment. This can not roll
back, high risk. And all the work on the tower need to be done in the day time.
• RNP Risks Involved:• In the swap period, everyday the network will have new provisional boundary with Samsung sites.
Because of this the HO KPI may be bad.But for that the wimax service is fixed wireless service so there is not some real heavy affection to the users.
• About the detail performance risk considering and solution preparation, Huawei need to first collect the Samsung current network information then do the analyse and report to Mobily.

Recommended Proposal:
1. Proposal One: – First Swap Wimax Sites– Then Swap MW transmission
2. Proposal Two: (Recommended)– Start Swap Wimax in Region A and SWAP MW in Region B simultaneously .
3. Proposal Three:– Precondition: Match RF cluster with MW link design
• 3.A: First Swap WiMAX according to RF clusters, Once all Wimax sites are Swapped in a particular MW link, then Swap MW for that Link.
• 3.B: Swap Both MW and WiMAX Simultaneously in same RF cluster. (Some sites might be require two or even more MDT’s depending on MW link design)

INDOOR EQUIPMENT [Key points]
• Types of indoor equipment include:
– DCDU [DC-Power Distribution Unit]
– BBU [Base Band Unit for WiMAX]
• Transmission Rack in Block-8 Should be utilized for installation unless
specified otherwise. [Block 8 is the right most 60 cm*60cm block when
entering the shelter ]
• 63A fuses should be used to connect DCDU with exist ing DC-
Distribution BOX [DCDB] installed usually on wall i n block 7 of the
shelter.
• If DCDB is full then the direct connection with rec tifier can be made but
power team approval is required from Mobily.
– DCDB uses round fuses while rectifier uses fuse with pins on top and
bottom.

OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT [Key points]
• Outdoor Equipments Include:
– RRU
– GPS Antenna
– Antenna RF
– Combiner
• GPS should be connected to BBU through antenna arre stor.
• Color Coding for feeder Antenna – Combiner , and CPR I for RRU – BBU is
extremely important to get rid of any cross connect ions.
• Swap Sites = RF Antenna azimuth for Existing [Samsu ng] Antennas should be
noted before installation of Huawei RF antennas.
• Three RRU power cables should be routed in one PVC pipe.
• Three RRU CPRI cables should be routed in one PVC p ipe.
• Its important to note RRU type Wimax/LTE , before i nstalling on pole/rack.

GPS Antenna Installation
• The location requirements for installing the GPS antenna are as follows:– Install the GPS antenna in open
air. The installation place should have no obstacles at the angle of 10° above the horizon.
– Keep the antenna away from high buildings and accessory construction on the roof.
– Install the GPS antenna on a platform as large as possible. The antenna must have an upright visual angle greater than 90°.
