READING BETWEEN THE LINES: MINING JEWISH HISTORY THROUGH EXTRACTION OF POLISH ARCHIVE DATA

Observing that the number of “other towns” appearing in the Polish State Archive record extracts from the town of Opatów seemed atypically high, detailed analyses were conducted on birth and marriage data, benchmarking statistics from the Opatów Archive against those from the Działoszyce Archive. The differences in statistics and the presence of specific towns in the Opatów Archive are explained in the context of historical background.
