IBC Rebuilding NSW Submission called for
Progress scorecard
1. M1 (F6) Extension – complete the extension of the Freeway between Waterfall to St Peters by 2020, including investigations to link to the Westconnex South.
• $11 million committed to F6 extension feasibility study
• $300 million Rebuilding NSW funding allocation to unblock critical constraints on the Gateway to the South A1, A3 and A6.
2. Reduce travel time on the Illawarra rail line to 60 minutes – complete engineering and timetabling upgrades to resolve structural issues
• Rebuilding NSW states a further reduction in the rail journey ‘will be investigated’
3. Maldon Dombarton – complete the construction of the dedicated freight rail corridor by 2020
• EOI process underway
4. Albion Park Rail Bypass – commence construction of the bypass by 2017
• Government has commited $550million ($350 million Rebuilding NSW funding allocation and $200 million from roads and freight budget)
5. Shoalhaven River Crossing – commence construction on the second bridge by 2020
• $11.6 million committed to complete planning
2015 NSW Election win: Boxing day trading in Wollongong
• Amending the boxing day retail trading laws has been a cause the Illawarra Business Chamber has championed
• The IBC made a submission on the retail trading laws back in 2011 and wrote to the then Treasurer Mike Baird in 2013
• The Government has listened to the business community and is getting rid of this archaic trading law
