Postal ServicesThere is a post office substation located in Thwing Atrium that sells stamps and accepts letters and packages up to one pound. Mail drop boxes are located around campus near the Campus Shuttle stop on Juniper Road, on Euclid Avenue in front of Thwing Center, on the corner of Bellflower Road and Ford Avenue, and outside Fribley Commons. The nearest full-service post office is located at 1950 E. 101st St., between Euclid and Chester avenues.
Change MachinesThere are change machines in Wade Commons in the North Residential Village and Fribley Commons in the South Residential Village. These machines accept $1, 5, 10, and 20 bills.
LaundryCoin operated washers and dryers are located in each building.
Lock Outs If you lose your key or get locked out of your room, you can get a temporary key from the North or South Residential Village Area Offices (see above). After hours, please call the Customer Service Assistant (CSA) on call. The CSA on call contact information is posted at the entrance of each residence hall. The lost room key charge is $85 for traditional residence halls and $10 for The Village at 115. The lost Housing ID charge is $25.

Do not allow people you do not know into a card-access building. People will understand and appreciate your caution.Walk in groups after dark. If you must walk alone after dark, a security escort is available by calling 368.3333 from any campus phone, or 216.368.3333 via cell phone.Security may be reached at 368.3333 from any on-campus phone (Call 216.368.3333 from off campus).
unIversIty polICIes
All guests of the university are required to carry Case identification• and should be prepared to show identification if requested by a security officer or other university personnel. Case will be responsible for the distribution of conference identification cards. Case security and the University Circle Police Department provide 24-hour coverage on-campus.Guests must adhere to Case, federal, and state regulations regarding drugs and alcohol.• It is illegal in Ohio for alcoholic beverages to be made available to or consumed by anyone less than twenty-one (21) years of age.Entrance doors to residence halls are to remain locked at all times.• All personal guests must be escorted inside buildings.All guests must evacuate the building during a fire alarm.•Quiet/Courtesy Hours• : Guests are expected to refrain from loud and excessive noise as well as obnoxious and rowdy behavior. Courtesy and respect should be shown to all guests and residents at all times.Candles and open flames of any kind are prohibited in the residence halls.• Sprays, such as Lysol and other air fresheners and disinfectants, also are not permitted due to the sensitivity of our particle detectors.The enforcement of the new Ohio smoking ban began Thursday, May 3, 2007.•The state smoking ban states that there is no smoking allowed inside any building and smoke •must be prevented from infiltrating the building through any door, window, vent, etc. In order to ensure the university’s compliance with the law, smoking will only be permitted in designated areas. A map of the location of the designated smoking areas appears on page 5.Students and guests who are found smoking within non-smoking areas will first be given a warning •by campus police. Subsequent violations will be forwarded to the university judicial process and/or Case Western Reserve Police and Security Services. If guests have concerns about incidents of smoking in non-smoking areas, please contact one of the two area offices during normal business hours at 216.368.1010 or 216.368.1011.Case reserves the right to terminate this agreement for any rule violation by university housing •guests.

Village at 115 Fitness Center (only available to guests in the North Residential Village)
Guests staying in the North Residential Village are welcome to use the fitness center located behind Starbucks in House 3 of the Village at 115. This fitness area includes cardio equipment (two treadmills and two elliptical trainers), various weight machines, and a stretching area.
121 Fitness2130 Adelbert Road Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.216.368.1121 Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.onetoone@case.edu Exercise floor closes 30 minutes prior to closingConsistently ranked as Cleveland’s premier fitness center, 121 Fitness is a two-level, 28,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility. 121 Fitness is proud to offer access to over 120 pieces of top-name cardiovascular equipment (28 new treadmills in 2008, 21 elliptical trainers, 16 stair steppers, 12 step mills, a variety of bikes (13 new in 2008) and more. Also available are two full lines of top-name machine weights and a dedicated free weight room with top-name equipment. 121 Fitness offers many group exercise classes each week as well as free towel service and daily lockers, free parking for up to three hours while you use the facility, free babysitting service, and access to a dry sauna in each locker room.121 offers temporary memberships for people in town for a short period of time. Temporary memberships must be paid in full up front and they are non-transferable and non-refundable. Prices do not include tax. Two weeks, $35; one month, $60; two months, $120; three months, $150.Guests are welcome to use 121 Fitness and do not need to be accompanied by a 121 member. Veale Athletic and Recreation CenterMost guests will be ineligible to use this facility unless affiliated with Case Western Reserve University or University Hospital. Guests must be in possession of a CWRU-issued photo ID. All facility users must show proper identification upon entering any of the Physical Education and Athletic facilities. IDs will be checked at the facility entrance. Failure to present proper identification may result in not being admitted to the facilities.The Veale Center is home to Case athletics, physical education, and intramural programs. It houses four multi-purpose courts, a six-lane indoor track (eight laps per mile), and a multipurpose aerobics room. It also features a cardio exercise room (with treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair-step machines, rowing machines, a gravitron and stationary bikes), a newly renovated weight room (three separate rooms, main, power lift and hammer strength), nine racquetball courts, two squash courts, a rock climbing wall, plus Veale Natatorium and Donnell Pool.Visit http://studentaffairs.case.edu/athletics/facilities/ for more information.

Urgent Care CentersOften, it is more time-consuming to seek care at an emergency room for less serious problems. Serious problems should be directed to an emergency room since a wider range of services are available.
University Hospital Emergency Room also has “Rapid Care” for evaluating less emergent problems. The triage nurse determines which patients are treated. Circle Link ShuttleCatch a Circle Link shuttle (aka “Greenie”) at any of the stops on the map at left and ride all around the University Circle area. They are provided free of charge and run from 6:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.
Evening ShuttleThe north and south evening shuttles run from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily. The north route covers many of the same areas of University Circle as the CircleLink route. The south route travels all the way to Coventry Village. Catch one at any of the evening shuttle stops around University Circle (see evening route map at http://greenie.case.edu).

Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA)The RTA is best known for providing light rail mass transit (“the Rapid”) to the Cleveland community. The Route 66x Red Line has two stations on campus. The Euclid Avenue-East 120th Street station is located near the North Residential Village, and the University Circle station is located on Glenwood Avenue near the South Residential Village. Trains run approximately every 15 minutes from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m. See pages 14 and 15 for attractions on the Red Line. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority also provides public bus transportation and the new Healthline service connecting Tower City with the Euclid Corridor. See below for a map of busses in the University Circle area. Fares for bus, train or the HealthLine are $2. Exact change is required. All-day passes may be purchased for $4 on the bus or train.Schedules for local bus routes are available in Wade and Fribley Area Offices, and Thwing Center. The Case Western Reserve University campus is located in a truly unique location. As a member insti-tution of University Circle, Case is surrounded by world-renowned cultural, educational, and medi-cal facilities. Little Italy, Coventry Village, and Cedar-Fairmount are all within walking or shuttle distance of campus and feature a variety of unique dining and entertainment options. Two light-rail stations and 11 bus routes connect the campus to all that Cleveland has to offer (see RTA map on page five). The following pages highlight but a few of the many things to do on and around the Case campus. Dining establishments are ranked as “inexpensive” (under $10 per person), “moderate” ($10 to $20 per person), and “expensive” (over $20 per person). Many establishments have a broad range of offerings and span multiple price ranges. Additionally, the following symbols are used to denote the type of establishment:

Red Line Rapid Transit, RTA Route 66xThe Red Line connects campus with many of Cleveland’s key attractions. With two rail stations on campus (see map, page 5), it is a quick and convenient means of transportation. In addition to the attractions within walking distance of the rail stations, each station serves as a stop for many bus lines, creating a backbone of transit hubs. A dedicated urban explorer can find enough adventures to outlast an undergraduate career. Be sure to check the bus and rail schedules at http://www.riderta.com before heading out; schedules change frequently and some routes run limited hours.Tower City Center, Public Square (12 minutes by rail)This is the main stop for downtown Cleveland. The stop in the basement of Tower City Center, which contains a number of shopping and dining options as well as a cinema. Other attractions within a few blocks’ distance include the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; Great Lakes Science Center; the home facilities of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers; Playhouse Square Center; Warehouse District and East Flats; House of Blues; and many other dining, cultural, and entertainment facilities.
West 25th Street, Ohio City (15 minutes by rail)The West 25th Street station is adjacent to the historic West Side Market (pictured, left), a popular Saturday morning destination. There are a number of boutique shops, bars, and clubs on West 25th Street as well.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (42 minutes by rail)The Red Line provides a cheap and easy way to travel to and from the airport. Be sure to double-check the train schedule and leave in plenty of time to catch your flight.

Driving: Heading westbound on Euclid Avenue, turn right on Chester Avenue. Follow Chester to the I-90 West/I-71 South on-ramp on the right side of the road. Continue down I-90 West/I-71 South until the Route 176 South junction. Take the Route 176 South (Parma) exit on the left side. Almost immediately, there will be an exit on the right for Jennings Road/Steelyard Drive.RTA: Take the westbound Red Line Rapid to West 25th Street. There, transfer to the Route 807 southbound Tremont Community Circulator and get off at Steelyard Commons.
Crocker Park: Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Barnes & Noble, Brio, Borders, Cheesecake Factory, Coach, Express, Express Men, H&M, Hollister, Regal Cinemas, Sephora, Trader Joe’s, Urban Outfitters (31 minutes by car)Driving: Take I-90 West (see Steelyard, above) to exit 156, toward Basset Road.
